So you'd go for Doug Williams, Mark Rypien, or Joe Theisman over Dan Marino to QB your team? Perhaps you'd take Craig Krenzel over Peyton Manning as well?

Football is the ultimate team sport, one player can't be held fully accountable for every aspect of his team. If I recall correctly it was Florida's defense that carried them past Oklahoma in the "BS National championship game." [Reply]

Ponder is having a great year, Tebow has had a great career.

I'll take 2 NC titles over mediocrity.

In the past 2 weeks Christian Ponder had lead FSU to two comeback victories and overall has lead FSU to 3 fourth quarter comebacks this season. Whereas Tebow has one referee assisted fourth quarter comeback. Can you really say Ponder doesn't know what to do when a game is on the line? [Reply]

But his team is 4-4, the past 2 weeks they had to come back to North Carolina and NC St.

This year Tebow has had a down year. Ponder has had a good year.

I'm basing this off what happened this week or last week. But over both careers. [Reply]

Dan Marino won more than 60% of his games.

Peyton Manning won 39 of 45 games as a starter.

Christian Ponder took a team with equal talent as Tebow's and managed to turn them into a terrible team while Tebow was winning championships.

Seems pretty clear to me.

Florida's defense played commendably, but Tebow threw for 230 yards and 2 touchdowns while breaking 100 yards on the ground.

Against two teams who are a combined 1-7 in the worst BCS conference in the country.

Against a similar team (Troy State), Tebow completed 15 of 24 for 230 yards and 4 touchdowns, ran for 70 yards and won by 50.

OH NO

I can't believe Tebow would suck enough to have the game wrapped up in the fourth quarter!

While Ponder needs a comeback against a 1AA team to overcome his incompetence, Tebow wins 59 without playing most of the game.

Ponder has failed multiple times this year with the game on the line, choking against Miami, South Florida, and the Georgia Institute of Technology. [Reply]

:-)

I can't argue with what Tebow is done, but would you really trust Tebow throwing the ball against a legit pass defense? [Reply]

Christian Ponder choked when Jarmon Forston dropped a pass? Ponder put the ball in his hands to win a game, and he choked? Christian Ponder choked when he put up 44 points against Georgia Tech? [Reply]

He threw it way too low when the receiver was wide open.

How many INT's has Tebow thrown in his career? 15. [Reply]

Tebow's intangibles make him a Championship winning Heisman quarterback.

Who wouldn't choose him? He makes his teammates better, hell, at times he even gets his defense to play better. I don't see Ponder doing that. [Reply]

A few weeks ago, in the MassNole's state of FSU football thread........

Unless in this more recent post, you were referring SOLELY to Christian Ponder 2K8 version (and even then, the fact that 2K8 Christian Ponder turned FSU into a terrible team by himself is a HUGE stretch), I'm flat out confused about what's in your head right now........

Which one is it? [Reply]
