Heisman Talk.. Who's your Top 5?

This years Heisman race was supposed to be one for the ages, but instead the top runners have gone down with injuries or simply just have not performed. With all that said, what 5 players do you think are deserving to be in the Heisman race and why?

1. Jimmy Clausen - 4 weeks in a row he has led his team back in the 4th quarter to win against their opponent. He is having a very solid year under center and is making all the right plays. My opinion, after watching the Washington game.. Clausen has FINALLY arrived. He leads the nation with an overall QB rating 179.3.

2. Tim Tebow - Mr. College Football himself seems to be in the thick of things yet again in the Heisman race. We'll see how Flordia handles the concussion situation and wheather or not he will be able to play the same. Tebow is still high on my list because he is the MVP of Florida. Granted, Florida is probably the most talented team in the nation when it comes to depth, but without Tebow, they just aren't the same. Heart keeps Tebow high on my Heisman list.

3. Tony Pike - This guy has been lights out so far this year. Pike has posted a 159.9 QB rating 1493 yards 13 TDs 3 INTs and a 66.7% passer rating. Pike is on my list because his team is undefeated and he is simply just performing better than most so far this year. If Cinncy were to lose, i expect Pike to fall in everyone's standings. The Big East just doen't have the pizazz as other conferences, and if Cinncy were to lose, it could hurt them in the polls as well.

4. Colt McCoy - This guy is my "Because he was a finalist last year, he is on the list this year" player. McCoy has 9 TDs and 5 INTs this year. His numbers are not great and Texas seems to be running the ball a lot better this year, which will take away from McCoy's production. He is on my list my of respect, but I do not expect him to win.

5. AJ Green - The guy is one of the best WRs if not THE best WR in the nation. He has been putting in top notch performances and is helping keep Georgia in games. The thing that goes against him is that Georgia is not winning games, and the loss at home against LSU surely doesn't help. Other than that, I am just not sold on anyone else at the 5 position. Kasey Keenum performed well against UTEP..... but they lost. I am just not sold on Keenum. I really wanted to put Toby Gerhart in at 5 because he is leading the nation in rushing yards and Stanford is 4-1.

I know people hate ND and Jimmy Clausen, but he's playing really, really well.

He has done everything within his reach to make the Irish 5-0, and if the defense didn't screw up the Michigan game they'd be in the Top 15.

I'm not saying they are a Top 15 team, but I think Clausen does need some Heisman love.

If Notre Dame upsets USC and Clausen has a big game, he'll be catapulted to #1.

Then they'll lose to Navy

He is getting some love...but probably deserves a little more at this time. You hit the nail on the head. If he has a monster game against USC in 2 weeks......then the door opens. If he has another game like he did at USC last year............game,set, and match!

RBs:

Joe McKnight
Noel Devine

QBs:

Tony Pike

I don't think a WR or someone outside a BCS conference will win.

Its wide open with Bradford and Tebow out.

Colt McCoy leading the rest of the pack.

That would be nice, but I don't see it happening, unless he can continue to rush for 220 yards in each of WVU's eight remaining ball games.

Don't believe for one minute that Tebow is "out".

And how is McCoy leading the rest of the pack?

I pray that Jimmy wins. Message boards would be extra fun for a few weeks.
