Fresno State: A good 1-3 team

Doesn't mean squat, but I wanted to give the central valley dogs some props.

Worst run defense in the league last year.
New offensive coordinator
New defensive coordinator (previous one died in the off season)
New QB that had only thrown 4 collegiate passes before the season started
Junior running back that has a tiny shot at being a top 5 heisman candidate

Lost to Boise, Wisconsin and Cinci.

All teams 4-0 right now.

I thought before the season this Bulldog team would go 6-6, but they really have a shot at going 9-3.

They have a history of losing to teams they "should" beat in their own conference, but this years team has a different feel to it.

Looking forward to Hawaii in two weeks.

They are giving up better than 37 pts per game vs FBS schools.

I don't call that good. They maybe losing to a better class of program. But they can't stop anybody.

Their defense is bad, plain and simple. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if they swept the rest of the WAC either.

I wonder what the record of any of the top ten teams in the nation would be if they had this in 3 consecutive weeks...

*Travel 2,000 miles to play at Wisconsin (after already playing a game) where the Badgers had won 31 of their last 34 at home when FSU entered the stadium.

*Fly the 2,000 miles back home and play a team that had won 45 of their last 51 games overall.

*Then get back on a plane and travel another 2,000+ miles and play a squad that had won 17 of their last 20 at home when FSU entered the stadium.

I think you'll have to keep wondering...no top team would schedule 3 consecutive weeks like that.

It'd be a tough road to hoe, admittedly. 37pts per is still to much, however.

Hope you guys win. One of my best friends is stationed in Hawaii and he went to their opener and said they looked horrible. Said the only positive was that liquor is served since it's an off stadium campus.

This Fresno State team is no different then any other team that Pat Hill has coached before. They play up against teams bigger then they are and they play down against teams on an equal level or lower then they are. I'm guessing Fresno will loose at least 2-3 more games in the WAC.

I disagree. His previous Fresno teams had a lot more talent imo.
