Why does the Pac 10 never get any respect in the BCS conference?

They have two top 10 teams in the nation in USC and Cal.

They certainly get more respect than the Big East, Big 10, and ACC.

The Pac 10 would get more pub if their conference commissioners got their game together and made Pac-10 games available on more than one station (FSN).

The PAC 10 gets the exact amount of respect they deserve.

They're a solid tier above the Big 10, ACC, Mountain West, and Big East and a solid tier below the SEC and Big XII.

2008: Southern Cal
2007: Southern Cal & Arizona State
2006: Southern Cal & California
2005: Southern Cal
2004: Southern Cal
2003: Southern Cal
2002: Southern Cal & Washington State

Southern Cal's dominance of the conference gives the perception that the conference outside of USC isn't that great.

A big reason is also it is on the west coast. If the teams were located on the east cost or the midwest, they would get as much respect as the Big10 and ACC.

Smaller population base IMO has a big impact on how it is discussed on a national level.

A smaller reason is that last year, the Pac10 had 2 of the worst teams in the country.

so? two ranked teams means the Pac 10 is good?
So the Mountain West has 3 top 25 teams(1 top 10) so they must be better than the Pac 10, using that kind of logic. just because they're top 10 doesn't make the Pac 10 a good conference. plus its only one week in...so we really dont know.
I certainly think the Pac 10 gets more respect than the Big East, I would say they get enough with USC alone.

Im originally from Portland Oregon but now Im stationed in the South East at Ft Benning, GA. I think the PAC-10 gets more respect down here than it does in some Western States as weird as that might sound. They don't get SEC respect, but they get some kudos down here. If its not SEC or Big 12, it's usually PAC 10. Not bad being the third best conference if you ask me.

They do. They're consistently considered the third best conference and that's just what they are. I don't see why you think they have been disrespected. Heck, every time I turn on College Football Live, it seems like they're talking about USC.

They don't get as much ESPN TV coverage, but that's the Pac-10's fault with it's FSN deal.
