What do you think?

If this were to happen I wouldn't see how the BCS could justify not giving the MWC an automatic BCS bid. The top four of that conference would be up there with any BCS conference.

Yeah I think it would replace the Big East. I'd take Boise St, Utah, TCU and BYU on a yearly basis over the top Big East teams.

Re: If Boise State joined the MWC would it deserve an automatic BCS bid?

my personal thought? The easiest solution is conference expansion...Boise,Hawaii,Fresno and BYU to the Pac10(14) and Utah and TCU folded into the Big 12(14)...also ND to the Big Ten, with the NCAA insisting that all the BCS conferences have their own title games. I know it won't happen but without a playoff I think it's the best option

adding another automatic bid removes an at-large berth and I don't think that's good for College Football

MWC only has 9 teams. You could add Boise St, Fresno St, and 3rd team and make it a 12 team league.

Or you could kick out whoever is the traditional cellar dweller and just add Boisie and Fresno to make a 10 team league.

No, it wouldn't. The Big East has met every criteria to stay as a BCS conference and has easily surpassed the "Big East Rule".

And I wouldn't take Utah, Boise, TCU, or BYU over the top four in the Big East on a yearly basis. Last year? Yes. This year? Possibly, but I sure wouldn't take any MWC team over WVU in 2007 and Louisville, WVU, and Rutgers were a lot better than anyone in the MWC in 2006.

Let us review the MWC Standings since 2004.

The top three in the MWC could do well in a lot of BCS Conference, but after that, the bottom drops out. Colorado State, UNLB, New Mexico, Wyoming, and San Diego State are cupcakes. Air Force is decent. The bottom of the conference drags this conference down a lot.

The last two years, the MWC has played as a BCS-worthy conference, but the BCS Conference evaluation periods are four years in length.

Over the last five years, the MWC is 105-74 in non-conference games. That's decent and better than every other non-BCS conference, I believe, but every BCS Conference out there has performed quite a bit better than that.

And you all do know that there is room for another BCS automatic qualifier without stripping the bid from a current BCS Conference? That would be the most likely scenario. There are now five BCS games with the addition of the National Title Game, so that means that there are now four at-large spots, so I think that adding another automatic-qualifier wouldn't hurt.

There no worst than the Pac 10 or Big Ten. In fact better than the Big Ten which is a joke.

Leave the conferences as they are and add playoffs.

Three teams doesn't make a conference great.

Do you think Air Force, Wyoming, Colorado State, San Diego State, and UNLV are better than Wisconsin, Illinois, Purdue, Indiana, Northwestern, and Minnesota?

The Big 10 has more depth than the MWC, which is the Achilles' Heel of the MWC.

Penn State should be in the Big East and ND should move to the Big 10. Navy could also go to the Big East.
I agree with what the dude above said about expanding the conferences.

Air Force has been solid over the last eight seasons. Colorado State has been solid as well especially with Gartrell Johnson who recently left for the NFL. SDSU sucks as well as Wyoming but they have been on par with Indiana and Northwestern of late.
