talent matters obviously, but great college talent can be different than NFL talent

Some players and schemes dont translate to the NFL...'95 Nebraska for example and other option teams

Completely disagree

I'd much rather discuss Jason Campbell, Caddy, Ronnie Brown, Marcus McNeil, and Carlos Rogers than anyone Auburn has in 2009.

LOL. That's just funny. Talent matters a great deal.

The more talented team wins a large percentage of the time.

Auburn has as good a case in this discussion as anyone outside of '01 Miami imo

of course they didnt get a shot to win the MNC because 0U got the benefit of the doubt (some things never change)...but I seriously doubt the Tigers would have gotten massacred like the sooners did. It most certainly would have been a better game imo. Maybe the Tigers would have won?

yesir of course it does, but you can have great talent in college without it being translatable to the NFL. ie Jameel Holloway, Tommy Frazier...the "tweener" type of defensive ends, linebackers, "rovers" and safeties, etc..

btw '04 Auburn probably had more NFL talent than '04 0U as well as '00 0U. That alone doesnt necessarily make the Tigers better than '00 0U, but I think they were for other reasons

Re: Top Undefeated Teams of the Decade?

'04 Auburn was one hell of a team that didn't have a problem with one team on their schedule. We'll never know where they would rank on this list because they never even got a chance to play the other top team from the same year, much less other top teams from this past decade.
