You're hardly neutral.

When it comes to USC, Auburn, and Miami I am.

I don't see how anyone could have a neutral view when it comes to Texas.

You may be with Miami, but as Zoloft said, you have attempted to rationalize the Orange Bowl Massacre by making USC into an undefeatable, Godlike team.

There's no doubt in my mind SC would have handled Auburn in 04. I doubt it would have been close. I don't believe Auburn was any more talented or well coached than the 04 OU team.

Just my opinion.

Doesn't matter though since we'll never know. Thanks BCS!!

02 Ohio State is easily the most underrated CFB team this entire decade.

I agree. They had a lot of NFL talent on that team and they did beat a loaded Miami squad.

Well, they had a good offensive line and they had a few talents. They didn't have that good of a QB and everyone forgets how good of a runner Maurice Clarrett was.

Their defense was pretty loaded though with Doss, Wilhelm, Gamble, and Smith.

I was holding back from saying anything in this thread but I really feel this way too. Maurice Clarrett really carried that team the whole season. He is the best running back I have ever witnessed that was able to turn broken running plays into 1-3 yard gains. He was so good at finding small holes and moving forward to keep the offense moving and this was evident throughout the whole season. Not only was he underrated but the whole team was and with their performance they deserve to be among the top 3.

You can't call them the "luckeyes" either. That was the style of Football they played. Every game was close because they played field position and clock management. Plus their offense wasn't explosive, it was just really good and doing exactly what I mentioned.

Edit: Saying that 05 Texas had the best performance of any team in the decade. They truly beat a team that the whole nation, besides Texas fans thought was unbeatable.

The Auburn fans are going to discount this because "it was a rivalry game", but they got shut out in the first half of the Iron Bowl against an Alabama team that was down several scholarships due to NCAA sanctions plus they were missing their starting QB, FB, and RB. But somehow Auburn only managed to win 21-13. And say its a rivalry game thats how it will always be but look at '08 when one of the rivals is undefeated and tell me how close it was..

I think Auburn '04 is Alabama '08 only with an All-SEC caliber QB instead of a scrub like JPW. They won games with defense(LSU, Alabama, UGA, UT game 1, and Va Tech) and a two-headed monster at RB(granted Auburn's was two NFL first-rounders who were veterans and Alabama's was a 3rd rounder and a true freshman).

*waits for the Auburn fans to burn me at the stake for comparing those two teams*
