Usually. Hopefully, the media will throw a monkey wrench into things. I was so happy the 1st half was so ugly tonight. I thought it might help things out in that regard.

Re: AP Poll?

There are 2 main problems with the AP poll:

1. USC and Utah were 5 and 7

2. Split votes. 2003 worked because it was only USC. 2008 has USC, Utah, and Texas. Unless the voters conspire to elect Utah or USC, it'll be Florida.

My prediction is:

1. Florida (35)
2. USC (15)
3. Texas (5)
4. Utah (10)

The split vote is by far the biggest problem.

Thanks.

I'm hoping the first half throws things for a loop, but I just don't have much faith it changed anything. Guess we'll find out.

Re: AP Poll?

I hope they have the courage to pick Utah. Anyone who thinks Florida is the best team in the land is out of their mind...

I think you've hit it on the head. If the media was one, fair & 2, serious about wanting a playoff, they'll vote Utah. But I don't think enough happened to sway a movement towards the Utes.

I wouldn't say that. I think Utah "deserves" it more, if in the present format any school could truly deserve it. Florida might be the best. But they lost. At home. Utah went unbeaten w/a sched that included, in all likelihood, 2 top 10 teams and an opponent that beat a 3rd top 10 team. That should mean more.

Re: AP Poll?

I hope the AP pollsters NOT voting for OU/UF got together and made sure to vote for Utah. No point in being a rebel if you aren't organized.

Re: AP Poll?

It should be Utah. Why USC or Texas would get #1 votes above Florida is beyond me?

But it won't be and the BCS will continue to be a joke.

Re: AP Poll?

I just heard Herbstreit, Corso and Fowler say Utah should be number 5 behind Oklahoma. This kind of illogical thinking amazes me. The system will never change.
