I just can't get very excited about this year's championship

Florida and Oklahoma are both great offensive teams so I have no doubt the game will be at least be entertaining but I just can't get excited about this game because in mind this doesn't really feel like the real national championship game. In the back of mind watching this game I will be thinking about Texas, Utah and USC who won't get even get a shot despite having at least equally good seasons as the two teams playing and as much talent. Once again this feels like a pseudo national championship, the team that wins won't be a true national champion to me.

Obviously as a Michigan fan this I can't get overlyexcited about any national championship game unless Michigan was playing it in but I still am pretty excited to watch the national championship every year.

Its always that way sans the Texas USC game a few years back.

There is a reason the NCAA doesn't recognize a D1 national champion in football.

I agree. There are three teams with equal or better cases than the two teams playing tonight.

hopefully, most of the AP will want to make a statement and will vote Utah, Texas, or USC #1. If we've ever needed a split, we do this year...however, a couple of teams will still be left out obviously in a split also.

but it's not always all about "who is #1", at least it shouldnt be.

I haven't been excited for a college football game period since Texas/USC.

I guess I should become a USC fan, I like watching them stomp people and seem to enjoy college football more when they are in the NC for some reason.

I don't know why. There have been great games since then. The entire 2007 season, minus the bowl games, was probably the most entertaining college football I've ever watched.

College football is entertaining year after year, which is why I despise the BCS.

Maybe if college football actually went back to its traditional bowl setup and forgot about crowning some fictional NC (cuz playoffs won't work either) people would enjoy the games more.

If Ohio State and Texas can't sellout the Fiesta Bowl (there were many empty seats) then the game CLEARLY can't survive on some contrived ending (which is what we have now and would have under playoffs).

That's the problem for me, the BCS. It's killed any interest I have in college football. The last two seasons I've basically haven't watched college football though I wasn't a huge diehard to begin with. I follow it on paper and watch a bowl game here and there but besides that I don't see the point, the BCS has made the entire sport meaningless to me.

Plus, who is going to get excited about watching a game that features a team who has lost 4 straight BCS games and two being National Championships.
