Spring Game attendance...

The first numbers are coming in. Post 'em if ya got 'em...

Alabama: 78,200
Florida: 61,000
LSU: 33,624
Oklahoma: 23,306

According to the article, Nebraska's is a sellout this weekend with tix going for as high as $95.

I'm boycotting OSU's Spring Game. $5 to get in...no "frills" like at other schools (PSU is having an autograph session and carnival) and new this year: the game is right after a lacrosse match.

You'd think for being the wealthiest program in the nation they would splurge a little or at the very least not make ya sit thru a lacrosse game.

But that's OSU for ya. Anything for a buck...

More Husker fans will be sitting through the spring game than sat through their last few home games last season.

LOL

Expectations are high with Bo P. in the mix. It's kinda like Saban at Bama last year.

I'm pullin' for both programs. It's fun when the historic powers are on top of their games.

I guess I don't see 5 bucks as a big deal at all, especially for sitting almost wherever you want. They are trying to break the NCAA record for attendance for a lacrosse game. Different strokes I guess.

Hey Buck, do you have past years #'s for the Gators? I'm wondering how much of the attendance was due to Gameday being there?

No, $5 ain't a big deal. But you're missing the point: it's a combo of things.

1. The forced lacrosse game. I don't know of any other school forcing you to go to the lacrosse game first (cuz if you want good seats you have to go to it). Did you know that the band will perform Script Ohio at half of the lacrosse game but NOT the spring game? This is comparable to a hostage situation for Christ's sake. My sore eyes wanna see Script Ohio.

2. $5. Just a factor...cuz most in the Big Ten are free.

3. No frills. Why is it that Florida gets a foot race for a free scholarship and other perks while we get nothing? PSU is having an autograph session as well as a carnival for kids. It would be nice for OSU to at least PRETEND they care. Throw us a bone...

4. NO TV. Did you know the game isn't being televised this year? It won't be on BTN, ONN, STO or FSN. Why? Oh yeah, the lacrosse record.

I don't mind paying the $5 but the combo of these other things this year is too much. The lacrosse record is one thing but deep down they are going for the Spring Game record set by Bama last year.

I wonder if they'll open up the South Stands for this thing cuz if not...squeezing 90,000 in the original Shoe should be interesting.

1. Um, you aren't forced to go to the Lacrosse game, seating is first come first serve. They won't shut the gates on you.

2. some of the money goes to charity, and I think the rest goes to the Lacrosse team, I don't have a problem with that.

3.It would be nice if they spiced it up or something, but I guess it doesn't upset me as much.

4. The game will be televized, on tape delay. I think it will be on later in the evening on the Big Ten Network.

I mean if you are not happy with where your money is going, by all means don't go, it is your money and you have a right to spend it how you want. I guess I just see things differently. I'll be sure to give the buckeye fans on here a rundown of the spring game.

BTN has plans to webcast it...THERE ARE NO PLANS TO SHOW IT ON TV ACCORDING TO THE BTN from what I've found. Thanks again to OSU and the Big Ten for that one. I don't even get BTN so I'd have to go to a bar to watch it on tape delay if it even comes on.

Yes, you do have to go to the lacrosse game. First come, first serve means if you want good seats you have to get there early. I'm not going down there to watch a Spring Game from the nosebleeds cuz of a lacross game OPENING THE GATES EARLIER THAN USUAL.

Money going to charity and/or the lacrosse team?

I already give charity to Ohio State. It's called paying my taxes. It's MY cup that protects Hartline's balls every Saturday.

Again, it's one thing to charge and then it's another to add in all this other stuff. I'm just tired of being taken advantage of...that's all.
