There is no rule against negative recruiting as far as I know...why wouldn't he? Every other coach does it as well.

There's no rule against making fun of people in wheelchairs, but if I did it, I'd be a tremendous d-bag.

In a business full of backstabbers and lying a-holes, Urban's right near the top of the list. Whether that's something to be proud of is up for debate, but when you're the head coach of a prominent program like Florida, you shouldn't have to resort to some of the gutter tactics.

I don't follow recruiting like some of you guys, so help me out what you mean by negative recruiting. As far as I know, negative recruiting is telling a player "hey, if you go to X they won't play you right away...you come to our place and I'll let you play day 1." Is this what you are talking about?

Except when your kicker has never kicked a FG in his career and it was a non-pressure situation for him to make one. Randy Shannon and Warren Sapp can whine about it all they want, but it was the right time for Phillips to attempt a FG especially with a trip to Neyland after their bye week. I guess they should have went for a TD to be classier. I'm not going to defend Meyer's recruiting tactics but people whining about a FG attempt is overblown. You know if Shannon and co. were in the same spot they would have done the same thing. I doubt beating Miami by 23 instead of 20 has any effect at all if a recruit goes to UF or Miami.
