IMO, Eugene Smith should be higher.

Good, that means you guys can leave Russell Shepard alone and let Michigan come in and get him.

lol is UM going to offer him? ..already giving up on Pryor?

there are going to be a lot of good QBs coming out of Texas this year, and UT is probably going to recruit a couple of them. I guess that's one reason why Gilbert is going to committ so early, to get a jump on his competition. Barkley did the same thing to USC.

Not really so much giving up on Pryor as Pryor giving up on us.

Sheppard is definitely the guy I want for 09, and Texas signing Gilbert just helps UM out a little more.

At this point it's pretty obvious to me Pryor is stringing Michigan along. I'm trying to move on.

I'd be very surprised if Michigan doesn't go after Shepard. They'll be jonesing hard for a high profile QB that can run.

i dont blame you. That's one reason why i dont like following recruiting very often.

does it seem like he is opening the door for Oregon and/or Penn State, and that is why he wants more time...or is it still between UM and OSU?

he's definitely the best dual threat QB in the upcoming class imo.

who knows, maybe they will get both kids to play there?

btw, who will be Michigan's QB next season if Pryor goes somewhere else?

I still refuse to believe Oregon is a serious contender for TP. His dad's (I think it's him) in a wheelchair, and TP has said all along he doesn't want to travel too far. Unless he's a cold-hearted mofo, I can't see TP going that far.

Then there's the story about Pryor talking to his dad last night. Pryor said one school, his dad said another, and all we know from that is that his dad DIDN'T say Ohio State. It's assumed that his dad wants Penn State, and many believe Pryor wants Ohio State.

There's way too many scenarios about this that are possible. The part of me that still believes Michigan can get him has come up with this: Pryor's dad wants him to stay relatively close, and hence wants Penn State. Pryor told his dad he wanted Michigan, and his dad convinced him to delay the decision so he could visit Penn State. That scenario depends on the assumption that if Pryor had said Ohio State to his dad, his dad wouldn't have disagreed with the distance (in order of shortest distance from Jeannette, it's 1. PSU, 2. OSU, and 3. UM).

Meh. It's all moot. He'll be a Buckeye in the end.

That is pretty much the story from Buckeyeland (aside from the insane meltdown boards), situation #1 however was the stressed story. Still think he is OSU bound, so Shepard would be a big pickup for UM if he were to go there. Is he open to going across the nation or is he a guy who wants to stay south? I haven't really followed much about him at all, since I figured OSU would end up with Pryor.
