Stop me if you've heard this one before: Kevin Newsome wore a Michigan sweatshirt to UM's spring game this past weekend.

He will have to compete for playing time with Pryor, after he donned the UM sweatshirt...

In other news, the Melvin Fellows recruitment isn't over, as he will attend OSU's spring game over the Illini game. Been hearing rumblings that this isn't over for a long time, heard other rumors to expect something within the next couple months. We'll see.

Re: 2009 Recruiting Thread

According to one paper Tom Savage a highly touted QB from Pennsylvania has verballed to Rutgers.

This is the earliest and highest rated verbal Rutgers has had in recent memory. He is a sure fire 4, depending on how his Senior season goes 5 star QB prospect.

Great pickup for Schiano- I don't think he'll be a 5* but he'll be a solid 4* pickup which is a coup for the RU program. He'll be better than Teel, which is all they can ask for.

LOL Penn State was going after him. That program is going downhill. They better hope Devlin is decent or look out! The Morelli-era mediocrity will only continue.

Re: 2009 Recruiting Thread

Savage was on Rutgers Campus literally every other week, and will be at the Spring Game Saturday.

Having him and DC Jefferson battle it out in 2009 for the starting QB battle will be a treat.

D.C. Jefferson won't be ready until at least his RS-Sophomore season.

Re: 2009 Recruiting Thread

There is a 100% chance he redshirts this year unless the 5 other QBs become paraplegics. But he could split time his Redshirt Freshman year with either CPE or Natale. Then his Soph RS year and Savage's Freshman RS year they would battle it out.

FWIW, most Florida recruiting experts thing he'll end up at TE in college.

Re: 2009 Recruiting Thread

I knew LSU most likely would've moved him to TE, and that's big reason why he flipped between RU and LSU. He wanted to play QB and at RU he was being offered that chance.

Re: 2009 Recruiting Thread

Michigan picks up commitment #5 from RB Fitzgerald Toussaint out of Youngstown in Ohio (same HS as Isaiah Bell).
