Yeah but he's at Michigan so basically most of the work is done for him when it comes to in state kids.

You underestimate the power of the winged helmet. I would like to think that I could get a top 10 class, at worse top 20 just selling the program, tradition and playing infront of 110,000. If a coach knows what he's doing, Michigan should be top 5 every year.

I guess we'll see. Michigan always has Top 20 recruiting classes that usually never live up to expectations anyway. He's bringing a totally different style there. It will be interesting to see how this pans out over the next 3-4 years.

He'll have more talent than everyone in the B10, except maybe OSU. Anything besides 11-1 or at worst 10-2 will be a disappointment for Mich fans. And 11-1 will be a disappointment if its the sweater vest being the 1 every year.

Re: 2009 Recruiting Thread

A waaaaaayyyyyyy early look into 2010's recruiting season.

Looks loaded with Cali and South Florida players. South Carolina has some studs, too.

Quote:
***** 1. Jackson Jeffcoat (DE) Plano West HS / Texas
- Son of Jim Jeffcoat is a dominant player; All-Texas 5A honors as a sophomore is unheard of.

***** 2. Seantrel Henderson (OT) Cretin-Derham Hall / Minnesota
- Everyone throws around "The next Orlando Pace" but this kid might actually be it.

***** 3. Dillon Baxter (RB) Mission Bay HS / California
- In 5 years, the legacy of 619 Tailbacks will read: Marcus Allen, Terrell Davis, Ricky Williams, Reggie Bush, Dillon Baxter.

***** 4. Todd Chandler (DT) Miami Northwestern HS / Florida
- Younger teammate of former 5-star DT Marcus Forston may end up the superior.

***** 5. Michael Dyer (RB) Little Rock Christian HS / Arkansas
- EA Sports Sophomore of the Year who rushed for over 3,000 yards is dubbed Little D-Mac for a reason.

***** 6. Jamel Turner (DE) Ursuline Academy / Ohio
- Elite athlete is already a terror off the edge and has the frame to develop into complete player.

***** 7. Eduardo Clements (RB) Booker T. Washington HS / Florida
- Combination of physical tools and unbelievable FBI and vision for a sophomore makes him unstoppable.

***** 8. Marcus Lattimore (RB) Byrnes HS / South Carolina
- Absolute workhorse has been on every major program's radar since his freshman year.

***** 9. Mike Hull (LB) Canon McMillan HS / Pennsylvania
- Special player and the next star from the WPIAL; Arguably the best LB on the field as a sophomore against Andrew Sweat and Mike Yanich.

***** 10. D.J. Morgan (RB) Taft HS / California
- Talented kid who ran 10.5 100-meters as a freshman could be the most exciting player in this class.

***** 11. Martavis Bryant (WR) Calhoun Falls HS / South Carolina
- Best WR in this class is an early commit to Clemson and has many conjuring up comparisons to A.J. Green.

***** 12. Robert Woods (S) Serra HS / California
- Most polished sophomore could play WR or S in college right now.

***** 13. Spencer Ware (ATH) Princeton HS / Ohio
- Maybe the best pure athlete in this class could end up at QB, RB, or WR on the next level.

***** 14. Jakhari Gore (RB) Miami Columbus HS / Florida
- Frank Gore's little cousin has same elusiveness and athleticism, but better jets.

***** 15. Malcolm Jones (ATH) Oaks Christian HS / California
- As a freshman, his INT saved Jimmy Clausen and Co. in the State Championship game. As a sophomore, he rushed for over 2,000 yards and 29 TDs.

***** 16. Gideon Ajagbe (LB) Ransom Everglades HS / Florida
- Underclassmen Combine POY has everything you can't teach and arguably the highest ceiling of any Linebacker.

***** 17. Sam Carter (QB) Houston Sharpstown HS / Texas
- Will challenge Shepard and Gilbert for the claim of top Quarterback in Texas this year.

***** 18. Aleon Calhoun (OT) Navasota HS / Texas
- Rare to see an sophomore OL combining a college-ready frame (6'7" 315 pounds) with plus athleticism and technique.

***** 19. Prince Shembo (DE) Ardrey Kell HS / North Carolina
- Cool name to go along with 13 sacks and 5 FR as a sophomore makes him a hot commodity.

***** 20. William Gholston (DE) Douglass HS / Michigan
- Vernon Gholston's body type runs in the family; his little cousin stands at 6'5" 225 pounds and had 75 tackles with 9 sacks as a sophomore.

**** 21. Terrance Broadway (QB) Capital Senior HS / Louisiana

**** 22. Lache Seastrunk (RB) Temple HS / Texas

**** 23. Jake Heaps (QB) Skyline HS / Washington

**** 24. Jeff Whitaker (DT) Warner Robbins HS / Georgia

**** 25. Phillip Sims (QB) Oscar Smith HS / Virginia

**** 26. Chris Martin (DE) Bishop O'Dowd HS / California

**** 27. Kadron Boone (WR) Ocala Trinity HS / Florida

**** 28. Ted Meline (WR) Westlake Prep / Florida

**** 29. Jeffrey Knox (S) Central Catholic HS / Pennsylvania

**** 30. Bo Wallace (QB) Giles County HS / Tennessee

**** 31. D.J. Vinson (RB) Clay HS / Alabama

**** 32. Ronald Powell (DT) Rancho Verde HS / California

**** 33. DeAndre Hopkins (S) Daniel / South Carolina

**** 34. Risean Broussard (DT) Washington-Marion HS / Louisiana

**** 35. John Harris (WR) Naaman Forest / Texas

**** 36. Matt James (OT) St. Xavier HS / Ohio

**** 37. Ronnie Vinson (S) Isidore Newman HS / Louisiana

**** 38. Conner Wood (QB) Second Baptist HS / Texas

**** 39. Brian Mills (RB) Santa Fe HS / Oklahoma

**** 40. Rakeem Yates (DE) Edison HS / California

I'm not sure how he'll do against Ohio St but my guess is not very good. He won a lot of games at WVU but it seemed that every time there was a big game for us, he minimized his playcalling and played very conservative, as if he was playing "not to lose" rather than to win. He doesn't like to attack in big games. I'm sure he'll do the same against Ohio St because of the importance of the rivalry. He tends to get very nervous and tight in those game situations and you can really see it on the sidelines. No matter what kind of talent he brings in, I think he will struggle year after year against sweatever vest. He'll dominated the teams he's supposed to beat though so he'll have a lot of 9-3, 10-2 seasons probably there.

Re: 2009 Recruiting Thread

MSU just got a commitment from the possible top QB in the state, possible elite 11 candidate. Good start so far IF these kids stay tru to their word.
