Re: 2012 Recruiting Thread

Multiple sources shared some rumors last night that Michigan is pulling away from the competition in the Mitch McGary sweepstakes. He's canceled his planned visit to Kentucky's Midnight Madness, and will likely commit before the end of the month. I'm still nervous, not used to swimming in the deep end of the recruiting pool with Duke and Carolina and Kentucky...so we'll see what happens.

I think he will end up at Michigan and apparently Roy Williams does too because he offered his last open Scholly to 4* C Joel James at the last minute and got him to commit. While I would much rather have McGray, Getting James to sign is a plus because now we have at least 1 post threat that will be on the team next year(I'm assuming Barnes, Henson & McCadoo go pro. Zeller is a senior)

Looks like T.J. Warren will come down between UNC and NCSU. I think my team's chances of landing Warren after landing Purvis are pretty good.

I might have asked you this already and I know it's off topic but why did Harrow leave? Did he not like the coach or did he just think going to the UK would help him get to the league faster?

He is a big baby and thought he would lose time with coach Gott. It's okay though, Lorenzo Brown is a 100000x better player than Harrow was last year.

I think it's been a UM/Duke race for awhile now, but we'll lose out because of our inept big man coaching. Same reason I think Parker goes elsewhere.

I think McGary's one of the most overrated players I've seen in a long time. Why is he even ranked so high?

Hope he goes to Duke.

I don't see that...he appears to be a stronger Josh McRoberts without the crappy attitude.

I don't see how a Josh McRoberts clone warrants being the 2nd ranked player in the nation.

We'll see how the rankings pan out over the season though.

McBob was a good player and could've been a great player if he had a better attitude and stayed a bit longer.

Is McGary the 2nd ranked player in the country? Debatable. Is he a 5 star prospect? IMO, yes.
