I believe I read it on SI.com that UCF thought Adidas would allow Marcus to wear his father's shoes because Adidas allowed a lineman to wear a different brand of shoes cause none of the Adidas cleats fit him properly.

I think Adidas allowing a player to wear different brand of shoes because theirs didn't fit is perfectly valid. But a player thinking Adidas would let him do that because of his last name is selfish and ridiculous.

I don't think it was Marcus who was the one thinking it, it was UCF figuring they could get Adidas to go along with it.

If this wasn't Michael Jordan's son, no one would care?

If this wasn't Michael Jordan's son, he'd be made to wear adidas or go attend community college.

UCF isn't that bad. Size wise its the 6th biggest in the country. I remember watching the Mcdonalds game or the Jordan classic back in April and the commentators knew he was going to wear Air Jordans even though UCF was an Adidas school.

Re: Marcus Jordan Causes School Adidas' Contract

Was just thinking about it and I have to not put the blame on Marcus. He asked and was given permission. I'm sure he didn't have to ask twice either. Maybe it's a good thing for UCF that Marcus went there because more recruits might make their move that way. Honestly though, I'd be upset if I was a alumni from there or on the team. That shows a uncomfortable favoritism. If he costs us the contract, he better be good enough to take us to the promise land. I hope they show that school play a little so we can observe if he's worth it or not.

That is what I am talking about. Who cares about a schools sponsorship? This isn't interesting nor does it have anything to do with the game.

Re: Marcus Jordan Causes School Adidas' Contract

The amount of publicity UCF is going to get from Marcus Jordan playing at their school is easily worth the difference between the adidas contract and the new contract they will be getting from Nike/Russell/Reebok/Puma/whoever.

Younger MJ can do what he wants (reasonably) as long as UCF gets on national TV a few times a year and starts pulling in recruits.

UCF knew exactly what they were getting into as well as Marcus.
