Keep in mind, I'm not saying there's anything immoral about any of it. I think the no money rule is archaic.

My point is that the NCAA administers their business hypocritically, unfairly, & arbitrarily. There's no way anyone could justify the 2 punishments if they lined up the crimes next to each other.

I see your point and agree. I didn't comprehend to well the firwst obviously...will try and do better next time:-) [Reply]

What a load of crap. And this comes after the NCAA suspended WVU's Kilici for 20 games for playing on a foreign team two years ago that had one player who was paid to play. [Reply]

I thought they had rescinded that rule? Or is it just that they are working to get rid of it? [Reply]

that was so quick and inconclusive.. must be nice. most schools would push this issue past december, forcing that player to sit out all those games. Here, its done in a weeks time and IN his favor.. [Reply]

Are you referring to Wall? This was hardly quick and inconclusive. The NCAA has been on this for 5 months now. They should have had a decision by the start of the season and the conclusion is what it is. AAU coaches are allowed to help with expenses on a player's unofficial visits. Not to mention in Clifton/Wall's case, Clifton has been a father figure to Wall for many years so of course he is going to help him when he can. The coach happened to be a certified agent the 2 years previously, so bad at it apparently he never signed anyone, then went back to AAU ball. But when he went back to AAU ball he didn't cancel his license and therefore helping the player is not legal. Wall had nothing to do with it and received as much punishment as he should have (really none is what he should have) and so he pays the money back and sits for 1 exhibition game and 1 regular season game.

Not quick and definitely conclusive. [Reply]

im just saying. the majority of schools have these kid sit out for atleast the first semester as they "work" on the case. Here's it's just that perfect timing, as it always is, for the big time programs. I understand, and accept what is out there, and obviously dont agree with it, so im stating that here.

unless youve been a fan of the smaller conference teams out there, you'll never realize how lucky the bigger programs have it [Reply]

Not all the time. Ex-Heel Vasco Evtimov wanted to play for the French Olympic team. In order to qualify, he had to play on a club team in France as a teenager. He got no pay, as other amateurs on the team. It took half the season before the NCAA gave the go ahead.

I agree, though, the majority of the time, the big time schools get the higher priority. [Reply]

UK fans really shouldn't complain considering what the NCAA has recently done to Dez Bryant and Deinz Kicili.

Oklahoma State and WVU got much rawer deals. UK, being a perennial powerhouse, will get off easier. [Reply]
