Re: Regional Round

Yes, double elimination. It generally comes down to a team that's 2-0 playing a team that's 2-1. If the team that's 2-1 wins what is almost always a re-match, then they're both with one loss, so there's one final winner-take-all game.

I know how it works. I just find it dumb. Unless Cal Fullerton is hosting, Oregon State gets sent across the country regardless. They're about the only PAC team good enough to ever host. #1 should get the worst 2 seed, not the closest one. #16 (I get they only seed 8, but they pick 16 to host, so whoever they decided on last is essentially 16) should get the best #2 seed, aka, the last team they eliminated from being a regional host. Sending everyone to their closest site and then just tossing whoever's left wherever there is space is a dumb way to go about it.

The worst part is that our sweep of the *ucks didn't seem to matter at all. They had the bracket set up before the weekend (at least it seems that way).

It's not the first time we've been screwed either. We should have made it into the tournament the season after the back to back.

I also find it dumb, but it most likely isn't changing.

Miss State is throwing Stratton in game 1. FSU is throwing one of their #3s, they really don't have true #3, just a bunch of guys who have tried to be the #3.

Yeah, given that Oregon was still the 4 or 5 seed or whatever it was they got, it was evident that last weekend didn't matter. Maybe that last weekend needs to be a Thursday-Saturday series and all the conference tournaments wrap up on Saturday, and then they at least have all day Sunday to discuss before the bracket comes out Monday morning.

They at least could have sent Oregon State to Texas A&M, an unseeded regional host to make it more fair. I don't think TCU would have been horribly troubled by having to travel all the way from Dallas to Louisiana. The top 8 non-hosting teams, which should include Oregon State, should at least get to play against the non-seeded teams hosting to make some semblance of fairness rather than punishing someone because there aren't any non-conference teams hosting within 1,500 miles.

Who does everyone have for a winner?
Creighton is a good sleeper team right now. They are one of the teams with a losing record, but their bats have come alive in their last 5 games. Look for them to give UCLA a run for their money in that regional.

That's interesting because I've always wanted to bring a Gucci handbag to the UT-Arlington games. You know, to get that sense of guming my food after having all of my teeth knocked out in a run-in with fellow Texans. It makes colon cleansing that much easier after having the **** kicked out of you.

I think NCSU can beat Vandy if Rodon is on the mound facing them.

Re: Regional Round

Kent State and Kentucky are in the 18th now tied 5-5.

Purdue has to be loving that.
