Coaching Dynasties>The Coaching Career of James Aldridge (NFL Head Coach 09)

Offense Analysis:
QB: Kitna will probably be the starter until Woodson, the quarterback of the future, reaches his potential. Drew Stanton is filler, I'd like to try to trade him or eventually cut him.
HB: Similar situation, Kevin Jones will start until Jamaal Charles reaches his potential. At that point, Jones will become the 3rd down back. Calhoun and Ross are there incase of injury and such.
WR: The Lions saving grace. Johnson and Williams are great and will be the main source of offense. Furry will be traded (hopefully). McDonald will be the slot reciever until Perry or Bryant develop.
TE: I'd like to avoid using tight ends until the develop, but I don't know how much I can avoid that situation. Finley and Peterson were drafted this year and the other guy (Wilson) is there to fill the position.
OL: It's acceptable. Again, I'm putting a lot of faith into rookies, as the people leftover are mediocre at best. Jeff Faine was a great signing due to the lack of centers in the draft.
Overall: It really will depend on how well the line ends up playing. We can throw well and run decent, but the line will be the determining factor if we are going to end up on our backs again. [Reply]

Thanks, that mean my team might actually be good (other than the linebackers...). Now I just have to figure out how to call the plays effectively.

Defensive Analysis:
Defensive Line: Dre Moore is great, but the rest of the tackles are meh. Redding has a rather large contract, so I've been trying to deal him. No takers though (this seems to be a pattern). As for the ends, Campbell is a house, and White (who incedently has a large contract) will be a good stopgap until I get another beastly end. The other guys are again, meh. (My team has **** for depth, sigh...)
Linebackers: My weakness... Ernie Simms is great on the right, which is great if there are no injuries. Leman will be pretty good when he hits his potential, but since I'm running a 3-4 and my other MLBs are bums, this could be an issue. My left side is crap too... Again, I've been trying to make trades, but there are no takers. (If anybody has any ideas about any deals to make, please, do not hesitate to post).
Secondary: My defenses' saving grace (probably cause I spent money here). Asomuga is a stud, Bodden is pretty good, and Bowman is going to be great (yay I get to run more Nickel). As for safeties, Wilson is great, Alexander is good depth, Steiz is also awesome (especially once he hits his potential). The other guy (Kennedy?) is there cause of his contract. He isn't that good, so it would be great if we could have 1 or less injured safties injured this year.
Overall: This ain't looking too good. I can't put on a whole lot of pressure due to having crappy linebackers and only 2/3 of a good D-line. This will force extra pressure onto the secondary, who are good, but probably not good enough to compensate. (Again, trade ideas wanted)
Coaching Staff Tomorrow (Preview: this is worse than my linebackers...) [Reply]

Staff Analysis:
OC: Jim Colletto (29)- Ugh, this guy is pretty crappy. He has one special skill though.
DC: Joe Barry (31)- About the same level of badness...
ST: Stan Kwan (28)- This is why Asians don't play football.
QB: Steve Lindsay (7)- Wow. Just wow. How can you be that bad.
HB: Kippy Brown (64)- Finally, someone good. He has 2 special skills. He will probably be the only one to survive the future purging of my staff.
WR: Shawn Jefferson (10)- Who hires these bums???
OL: Mike Barry (25)- Marginally better than the others, but still crap.
LB: Phil Snow (15)- My linebackers are ****ty as it is (other than Ernie Simms).
DBC: Jimmy Lake (5)- ****! This is worse than the QB guy. My secondary is supposed to be my defense's seving grace too...
DLC: Joe Cullen (20)- Out of the true crap, into the meh crap.
GM: Matt Millen (or "Mack Millet") (18)- The worst GM in the game. You know him, you love him (if you're a Vikings/Bears/Packers fan) or hate him (everybody else); he is just terrible. Lol one of my season goals is to fire him. Gladly, I say.
Trainer: Jon Lopez (14)- Ugh, this staff continues to be terrible...
I also simmed the preseason, because I do not like it that much. We were blown out by the Colts (55-7 or something) and marginally destroyed by the others.
This does not bode well... [Reply]

I believe so; it would be nice to get a conformation on that though.
I did not think their defense was as bad this though. I essentially am starting over. I have a feeling that this year is not going to end up as I hoped (unless I can figure out some trades).

At this point, the plan seems to be to suck this season, get a high draft pick and purge the staff. Unless something amazing happens...

Ah the Lions, the only reason I don't feel so bad about my Chiefs. :-)
Good luck with this, I'll be following for sure.
