I was thinking the same thing...but I like seeing bouts go further so I am a bit undecided. Could you try it out and see how it goes? How did your Foreman/Lewis fight end?

Lewis took it, I could not really capitalize when I rocked him. I also like that aspect of the game, makes it harder to KO somebody.

But I am going to raise damage to 70, see how that goes.

Re: Official Slider Discussion Thread

Alright, last bout. Thomas Hearns (me) vs. Manny Pacquiao

Physical Damage >> 70
Boxer Speed >> 80
Punch Output >> 20
Defensive Awareness >> 100

63.9 punches per round for Hearns
52.1 punches per round for Pacquiao

So I've not seen over 60+ punches per round by the CPU yet.

Physical Damage was GREAT at 80, for this punch output setting. Both men never took a BEATING but was around a quarter to halfway in damage.

Fight ended in a Hearns decision. Just as the Foreman fight, I was did not capitalize when I rocked him. I need to start pushing him, when he attempts the clinch.

The CPU has %41 headshots and %54 bodyshots, so that is a balanced bout for it. Mine was %45 head, %63 body.

Basically I ruled Pacquiao with the jab, due to the MASSIVE reach advantage/height.

So hopefully we can tweak some more settings and make the game more realistic. But this is what we got so far and I am pleased.

Those sliders sound great. Although, IRL, there is no way Pacman sees the final bell against Hearns.

Indeed, I love 'The Hitman', but it was my fault I did not finish him. I rocked him plenty of times, but haven't got the game mechanics down to a niche yet.

Re: Official Slider Discussion Thread

Ok, im confindent now after wasting a couple of fight by testing in cpu vs cpu(altho I did learn some things)

if you want realism with this game, you have to BOX realisticly....Pick your shoots and work the jab even tho if your not connecting it(keeps your opp of of you) the average boxer throws about 15-20 jabs per round, most of the jabs dont connect which has a % rate around 15% most punches that are connected in real life are power punches(str8's, hooks and uppercuts) which has a much higher % rate hovering around 40%....So to sum it up, we are seeing a high % rate becuz we have no fear in taking a chance and going for punches(combos after combos)

Lol justing letting you guys kno that we can have realistic stats that matches with the sim stats in legacy mode if we are somehow forced to box(harder, slider adjustments???) So far in my legacy mode with my test set, I am landing 28% of my punches while my opp is landing 45% yea I sux lol but its up to me to lower that number becuz right now my defense sux aswell

basically I have wat everyone else have so far- raised speed and def awr and lowered punch output

Agreed.

But I don't think with the sliders given, we could have a %100 realistic stats wise, but I want to work it out.

Want to start a legacy where I can acheive realistic stats. I boxed Manny Pacquiao nicely. I kept him at bay with jab/ jab combinations and when he would attempt inside he would throw something as I blocked and I would return with a combination, backing away from him.

I jabbed 22.5 times a round against him, though. So I am working these sliders in a realistic way.

But would be best with a team effort. So should be fun! I usually only land around %30-%40 of my punches, AI usually lands %30 to %50. Should be nice to be able to adjust that rate to a more realistic one.

Thanks for the input juk34man. Find any more information out on your tweaks, let us know.

Re: Official Slider Discussion Thread

to force you to fight realistically, there needs to be a stamina slider.....it's ok now, but to achieve super sim stats we need to be scared to truly gas. right now its better than fnr3, but it's not really on realistic levels. In the game you can still throw 400 punches in 3 rounds as a heavyweight and still be near full function for the 4th round ( if you're not knocedk out by the cpu on their counters). In real life, his stamina is near finished with that kind of output.

If EA gives us a stamina slider via patch/DLC, this game can be tuned to a near perfection boxing sim
