next time around we are going to make a few changes to the format. although i disagree about comparing old games to new games. you can do it, we just need to tweak the criteria for picking which game is better. besides to me the fun is debating how say Baseball Stars stacks up to MVP Baseball.

as the saying goes, you live and learn and next year the tournament will be better after learning from the mistakes of this one.

you're taking a quote of mine out of context here. that was in response to the thread above it and aside from the first line doesn't necessarily have anything to do with CH 2k8 but reviews and metacritic in general.

i have listened and i understand the reasons people are citing. my point is there' a disconnect between the people in this forum and the overall general feelings about the game outside of this forum. and its something you don't see that often.

In general, I tend to trust OS forums over any other source of review information. Hardly any reviews last year mentioned awful turnover issues in Madden/NCAA. Hardly any previews have mentioned it (on the mainstream sites) in previews this year. Clay's OS review gave it a 7 which I definitely don't think was warranted (the reader score is 8.5).

Anyway it is kinda pointless to keep going on and on. It has already been decided.

2K5 was a disappointment to me and is overrated. I loved 2K4 FAR more than 2K5.

Have the people looking down on the game even played legacy mode?

As far as it not even being the best game this year, what's better, NBA 2K8? It's a good game, but Association Mode is halfway broken and CHoops has more features, just like NCAA breaks out the new features before Madden, CHoops does the same for NBA.

Sadly Im thinking a lot of people are confusing Best with 'favorite' or 'what I have nostalgia over'.

Well that isnt me. I voted for NFL2k5 all the way through, because it was the total package. In its heyday, nothing came close to what that game brought in its time. Other games i have really enjoyed, but not to the level that 2k5 brought for me.

Nuff' said. ESPN NFL 2K5 had it all.

I played about 500+ games of 2K5 online, and never have I had so much enjoyment. So many amazing online games that I can remember. It was football gaming at its best. Not perfect, but as close as any football game has come yet. RIP NFL 2K Series!!!
