Heh, i think they will release it, but somewhere around the 2009 draft so it doesnt compete with the other games. I also expect it to have alot of features and be more in depth. Taking a year off or a half a year to get some more developmental time in there may be what it needs.

Loved the 2k8, but it was barebones. I am only an online football gamer anyways. I could see how alot of people were bummed about that though.

Again, Gratz to 2k5. Loved seeing an all 2k sports final.

Their excuse was that they didn't want to anger the NFL by doing something very very close to an NFL game. Also it'd be hard to do a franchise with players who could be 40 years old in the game.

There have been tons of threads on that though, so this probably isn't the best place.

this victory for NFL2K5 only hammers home the sadness of what has become a sad state of affairs regarding EA football offerings. quite sobering the NFL exclusiviness is. anyone else cheering hard for Backbreaker??

see i don't buy this. we're all ready suspending disbelief pretending Earl Campbell and John Elway could play on the same team. Why not just take each player and put him in the game as of his best year? Some guys are 25. Some guys are 30. Some are 35. And let the franchise play out from there.

As for the NFL - bah! They took the license and millions in revenue from you. You should feel free to make it back regardless of whether it makes them unhappy.

NFL 2K5 winning this award is like Kobe winning the MVP, it doesn't really deserve it, but it gets the nod based on sympathy votes.

College Hoops 2K8 is by far the better game.

A majority who voted say otherwise. Sympathy would be offered for a sad affair or predicament. NFL 2K5 players know that they were voting on what the game is and what it brings, even to this day....not lamenting what could have been.

What is sad is that 2K5 will probably still be the best NFL football game around when it comes time to re-up with the NFL once again.

Sympathy votes? I beg to differ. I think NFL 2K5 recreated the NFL in ways that have yet to be matched. College Hoops lacks some flash IMHO. I honestly would give the nod of greatest sports game ever to hacked TSB on NES with new rosters and changeable plays, but that's a discussion for another thread.

I have been preaching this since the nfl thing. I even emailed them and told them.

CHoops 2K8 > NFL 2K5, probably.

However....

NFL 2K5 in the year 2004 > CHoops 2K8 in the year 2007
