Most MVP diehards have moved on to The Show 08 on PS3 because after 4 years there is finally another great baseball game. You missed my other point. MVP was the last major baseball game out for the PC. PC Gamers really had no other choice. 2K5 players could of easily jumped over to Madden.

I obviously don't know the statistics, but I don't believe there are that many strictly PC gamers out there. If you read the MVP mod forums most of those guys have The Show and/or MLB2K as well.

NFL 2K5 is greatly overrated. While there are a lot of good things in the game, I considered 2K4 (at least at the time) a much better game than 2K5. I loved that game far more than 2K5 and played it a lot more. 2K5 took many backwards steps from 2K4.

I know a ton of people truly feel 2K5 is the greatest game ever but I also think it gets votes from people that are either bitter at EA or are voting on what 2K5 could have been (ie. 2K6, 2K7, etc.). I would have loved to have seen a 2K6 but no way could I vote for 2K5 with all of its flaws.

Exactly.

It gained its "God-like" status because there was never a follow-up game. If there were games after it...no one would still be playing it. People would be calling NFL 2k8 the greatest game of all time, and then the argument against College Hoops being in the finals despite being made in the past year completely moot.

That's why I voted for CH.

For the PS2/XBox generation, I personally think the top 3 football games were:

1. NCAA '06
2. NFL 2K4 (close 2nd)
3. Madden '03

I never played NCAA '04 so I can't comment on that game. Tecmo Super Bowl was the best football game of all time imo. Just hoping EA makes football gaming as fun as the old days on my PS3 this summer.
