Street cred? We have to have street cred to have opinions now? The whole idea of this is to get people's opinions. You've had 30+ year old males on here who have played sports games since the 80s saying they love CHoops. Not sure how you get street cred, I guess it's something handed out by you.

That's TJs opinion, good for him! CHoops is where 2K tests all of it's worthwhile features before dumping them into NBA, the game is deeper IMO and plays better all around.

I have never been able to go 4+ months without switching games at some point, and that's what I've done with CHoops. I am partial to football games, and the BBall games generally bore me, but CHoops is so deep I'm not even feeling it yet.

Are you just upset because you seeded the game poorly? If you made it a 4-seed would this be a problem?

I'm sorry that people ruined the tourney by stuffing the ballot (if they did do this), but you opened the whole thing to the public, and you can't complain because it doesn't go how you planned when you drew up the brackets at home.

To me, nfl 2k5 was the best sports game i've ever played. Kept seeing new things, the presentation is still to this day unmatched. It's the one of the only game that I've had an urge to play, years after its release.

popularity contest makes no sense,...there are way more madden fans than 2k fans, even on this site the 'currently viewing' is constantly in favour of madden.

my #2 fav, wasn't even competing in run & gun 2 - konami's basketball gem.

As for the editor's comment, it's really insulting actually (I don't care really because it's hard to ruffle my feathers)...why would anyone participate in a contest you run again? I wouldn't because you don't treat the people participating (the only reason it works in the first place) with any respect.

This is all opinion, but off the top of my head I would put Tecmo Bowl, TSB, and TSB III followed by Madden '98 and '03 for starters. NFL2K didn't do it for me, I thought the controls were too loose and it was a glitch fest. The presentation is definitely one of a kind though, you can't argue that.

Most people viewing the forums are guests or don't post regularly. And anyone who spends time in the Madden forum knows most people in there aren't saying positive things about the series.

I am pretty sure that I don't have any "street cred", but for those who have it, what is the best game ever?

I have enjoyed this "tournament", but I am not sure how anyone can actually get worked up about it as it was obviously pretty unscientific. How do you compare a hockey game to a football game to a baseball game?...it is apples and oranges. Not to mention it is impossible to rate a game that came out 20 years ago (when I was in a completely different stage in life) against a current game. Even current games are viewed different by players who prefer online to those who only play offline etc.

Yeah, the people who are getting worked up about "fanbois" skewing the polls and such crack me up. It was a fun internet poll to see how games across eras stack up against one another.

I really fail to see how some people feel justified calling out the gaming knowledge or "street cred" of anybody who has supported either one of the final contenders. It's a public poll, you're asking for people's opinions, and then they get criticized for supporting a certain game? Just unnecessary IMO.

I don't really get why people are really getting worked up about what game they think is better? It's based on their personal preference. Hey I like chocolate ice cream. If that was in a poll would I be a fanboy of chocolate ice cream because someone else likes vanilla? I don't really understand how someone could argue with what THEY think is a better game. I mean I'm not going to get upset if someone thinks one game is better than another because I don't agree with them. It's just a simple poll...nothing else.

A majority of baseball fans are stuck with a "Madden-like" baseball game. It's called MLB 2K8 for those of us who don't have a PS3. I still play MVP (On the Xbox) to this day.

I voted for NFL 2K5. There was just so much potential with that game. I still feel it's too early with CH 2K8 as it just hasn't had enough time. I am addicted to CH, but I'm not sure if it will have the long-lasting effects NFL 2K5 had. I guess we shall see.

I actually think CH 2K8 may be the better game, but NFL 2K5 just had so many NEW things in it and SPECTACULAR presentation with the ESPN overlays, commentators, and SportsCenter. I wish they would have made a college football game that good.

NFL 2k5? Not sure its a better game than Mike Tyson's Punchout IMO but I can respect it getting this far. It was one of the best football games of all time when it came, so you can see why a fan base is voting for it.

Mike Tyson's Punchout better than NFL 2k5... that says it all. I could come up with some pejorative statement here myself, but that would be overkill.
