Re: Results and Discussion

To me the key is trying to vote on what games were great and what games were great for their time. A great game is one that is timeless, one that I can play today and it will be just as much fun. If I played FBPro or Microleagues Baseball (speaking of, did Wayne Gretzky Hockey 3 make the list at all?) I'd still think they were solid games. There's other games that I thought were great and then playing them years later made me realize that the memory of the games were great, but not the games themselves. I think it's also hard to judge based on what might've been groundbreaking. Some people may say that Bird vs. Dr. J (was that the name?) was not a good game, but arguably there would not be an NBA Live or NBA2Kwhatever if not for that game.

Re: Results and Discussion

Nope - Wayne Gretzky Hockey 3 didn't make the cut.

Keep in mind too the idea is for this to me an annual gig. So next year folks will hopefully remember the games that didn't get in this time around and make a push for them to get in.

Re: Results and Discussion

Despite the comparison of apples and oranges...this tournament has spurred some wicked discussion. And wasn't that the point all along? Just something for this funny little demograph we are all a part of to get together and debate about something nobody else in the world cares about?

Re: Results and Discussion

MM should be banned from voting forever since the travesty of TP 96 winning 24-2 over WSB 98 there.

Any opinion they have ever had is no longer valid.

Re: Results and Discussion

wtf #14 College Hoops 2k8 beats #3 NHL 94, 62-61.

It shouldn't have even been close. I have lost all faith in OS viewers. A once great sports gamers network taken over by teenage fanboys.

I'm an older guy, that voted CH2k8. It was the SNES version of NHL '94. That game was like regressing to the original NHL hockey on the Genesis. If it was the Genesis version, I'd have voted the other way.
