Question for those who constantly knock the "other" game.

And obviously, by "other" game, it's the game you don't prefer to play. So substitute Live or 2k as you see fit.

What do you guys get over making funny comments over your non-preferred game of choice? And I'm not talking about "blank sucks" but "at least the ball doesn't warp through my players like the other game."

Why is it so difficult to enjoy the game you're playing and leave it at that? Why does the "other" game have to be bad to justify the one you're enjoying?

Honestly, I'm enjoying both games this year even with their issues. But someone mentioned something to me that struck a very good point.

Would you rather NBA gaming be like the NFL where there was only one game you can play?

Instead of enjoying the fact that you actually have an option, a choice of game to purchase, some of you guys go out of your way to knock one game over another.

I know I can't be the only one tired of it.

I agree man. I'm digging on both games as well. First time I have ever bought two NBA games for the same season.

Re: Question for those who constantly knock the "other" game.

Everyone wants to feel justified in their choice so instead of keeping their mouth shut and enjoying what they have people tend to bring the other game down to further the justification.

It's no different than Coke vs Pepsi, Xbox vs Playstation, Mac vs PC, etc...

Its easy to squash that when you buy both and enjoy something from both

Yup. It's pretty transparent when people do it as well, be it blatantly or with snide comments or key words.

It's pretty funny to me. I just don't like it when people try to act like they don't have a bias. If you enjoy 1 game more than the other just admit it. People claim that they are unbiased, but go out there way every chance to mention the other game's flaws, and magically don't see "their" games flaws. If those flaws don't bother you it's one thing, but to act as if they're not their is another.

Great post. I have both and I enjoy both games equally. They both have there faults but, they both are good games of bball.

The NFL issue is a big concern of mine. What if we did only have one game to pick from. Look at the Madden board and ask yourself this question. Do I really have it that bad?

I pray that day never comes, because I don't trust any company to have the sole rights to the NBA. I wish the NFL would wake up.

Re: Question for those who constantly knock the "other" game.

I own both games, enjoy both games...I pick on both games....but I pick on the game I like better the most lol. Those "this isnt the other game where....." or "at least this doesnt happen like the other game" comments are what gets me...it seems like it happens every thread. So unecessary and silly imo..

Re: Question for those who constantly knock the "other" game.

I honestly cannot understand why people would rip "the other" game.

For me, I'm into NBA 2K10 but I have no problem with NBA Live 10. I do have a problem when someone tells me that NBA Live plays real basketball and 2K10 doesn't. That's just not true. And if I was to say that Live 10 doesn't play real basketball then I'd be wrong as well. But just because I play 2K10 doesn't mean I hate Live or think Live sucks. This has been the best NBA Live in quite some time.

I was on the fence on release day on what game to get. So when I went to Gamestop and played both games I felt NBA 2K10 had enough for me to purchase. The only problem I had with NBA Live was the lack of fast breaking by the CPU. Other than that, Live 10 played a great simulation game. Never in videogame basketball have I seen an illegal screen foul called until I played Live 10. I just wished they had it in 2K10, then it would have been a slam dunk. But there is the point, both games have significant flaws we can point out all day long about. The question is, what flaws are you able to live with? I myself can live without being called for illegal screens BUT I cannot live without the CPU pushing the ball up court whenever I turn the ball over or I miss a shot. That to me plays a significant role in simulation basketball and gives certain teams a variety of play styles. If I turn the ball over against the Lakers in Live I still have a chance to recover from my mistake. In 2K10, they will make you pay.

This has been the best brand of pro basketball we've seen on the video game scene. And your right Pared, it's always nice to have another option if the one your currently playing is not right for you.
