Have to admit this is a bit ironic given what OS is trying to discourage...nice role modeling there. :-) [Reply]

How's that a shot? It sounds like 2K is just defending themselves against the riot that is the 2k forums who are saying: "Live already has a patch where is ours?"

Am I the only one who thinks this way? [Reply]

No, I'm with you on that. I really don't feel there was a need to post an article about what Ronnie said. [Reply]

They're trying to call them out with the implication that they released an unfinished game and already had the patch planned in advance. Which is probably true in some sense (every sports game knows it will eventually have a patch), but the claim that they couldn't have gotten user input in time is completely ridiculous and unfounded, as OS was integral in crafting what ended up in the patch. I mean, I personally suggested the auto-switch to PG after made buckets and it's in the patch... unless they just magically knew that "the community" wanted that change, it's pretty obvious that they listened to us and then submitted the patch.

That goes for the backdown button as well -- the Live devs might've known that it would be something that the community wants but we voted on which button and that's what was eventually used. 2K just has sour grapes that they have a pissed-off fanbase waiting impatiently for the patch and Live was able to release one prior to NBA opening day.

Maybe if 2K didn't release their damn demo a week before release, we would've had time to catch many of the issues that were in the final... that's their own fault. Kudos to the Live team for acting so quickly on the patch (many complaints were logged when we only had the demo) and taking our input into account... it would of course be nice if the patch didn't still have the fatigue online issue and the other stuff that's popping up, but at least it was released prior to the season starting.

This is blatantly false and is definitely 2K/Ron "calling EA out":

"To say that the Live patch was based on community feedback is outrageous."

No, actually Ron, it's not, especially since much of that feedback and eventual fixes were things that were noticed in the demo and by early adopters of the game. It's true that they were probably working on parts of the patch before release (both things that we noticed in the demo and stuff that they simply didn't have time to fix before release), but the implication that they're being dishonest about implementing community feedback into the patch is ridiculous. This is the biggest thing that bothers me about what some of you think.

Why do you think this? Because he has an opinion? Because he likes something more than the other? there's no mistake about it, you guys are dead wrong when it comes to him. I know it looks bad me defending him, but I can't beileve the thinking sometimes. [Reply]
