I think I will fire this up soon.

What I mean by recruiting restrictions is that perhaps I can only recruit from certain states and such.

Saint Mary's 63, San Francisco 68

San Francisco, CA (AP) - The San Francisco Dons (14-10, 3-4 WCC) got things headed in the right direction this evening against a pretty good Saint Mary's (13-8, 4-3 WCC) team. The Gaels came into the game second in the West Coast Conference, but this loss, which lowers their conference record to 4-3, will make it that much more difficult for the Gaels to capture the WCC Title.

San Francisco got off to a fast start and led 30-18 after one half of play. The Dons extended the lead to 17 points midway through the second half.

However, after some adjustments by the Gaels, USF began shooting brick after brick after brick. In the end, USF's 17-point lead evaporated to within 10 points with five minutes remaining and the Gaels took the lead with under 1:30 remaining in regulation.

USF was down 51-48 with under a minute left to play, but Ronny Gregory hit a clutch three-pointer to tie the game at 51. Both teams would make one more bucket to make it 53 points apiece before the buzzer sounded. The two teams would head to overtime.

USF took control early in the overtime period and never looked back as the Dons seized a 15-10 advantage in the extra period to snag a 68-63 home victory to right the ship after losing three straight games against Pepperdine, Santa Clara, and San Diego.

Coach Frizzell wasn't very impressed with the victory, but he did see some positive aspects of the game. "The bottom line is that we won," he said, "and we won over a pretty darn good Saint Mary's team. I also loved how our defense played for the first 30 minutes. I wish we could have kept up that intensity up on defense for the full 40 minutes of regulation, though, because our defense was very porous over the last 10 minutes of regulation, which nearly cost us the game.

"I'm not real happy about how our offense played, but a win is a win and we'll take our 14-10 record and run with it."

Walter Proffit led the Dons with 23 points and three steals. However, he only shot 7-21 from the field and 4-14 from three-point range. Clement Patterson picked up a double-double as the junior center tallied 10 points, 12 rebounds, and 4 assists. Matt Owen and Ronny Gregory both scored nine points apiece.

The Dons are now halfway through WCC play abd have seven conference games remaining. Through their first seven conference games, the Dons are 3-4 in conference play, which gives them a fifth-place standing in the WCC Standings.

Saint Mary's Player Statistics
Artie Cross: 16 points (6-17, 2-7), 7 rebounds
Zach Mattox: 12 points (4-13, 1-2), 4 rebounds
Max Coombs: 10 points (4-9), 13 rebounds
Chaz Paschel: 10 points (5-10), 9 rebounds

San Francisco Player Statistics
Matt Owen: 9 points (3-10, 2-6), 4 steals
Ronny Gregory: 9 points (3-9, 3-8), 4 assists
Walter Proffitt: 23 points (7-21, 4-14), 3 rebounds, 3 steals
Clement Patterson: 10 points (4-8), 12 rebounds, 4 assists

Sometime soon I will be starting this up. However, EA's NCAA 10 looks promising this year, and if it lives up to the hype, I may jump ship and leave CH 2K8 behind. However, most of these games don't live up to the hype, so we'll see. Also, NCAA 09 apparently had quite a few glitches in legacy mode which would have to be fixed in order for me to do a dynasty with that game.

If I do start one with NCAA 10, I will probably do a career legacy with it, as well.

When the NCAA 10 demo comes out early next month, I'll have a feel on whether I will purchase NCAA 10 or not.

Whatever the case, I will probably be firing this up again soon. It's almost basketball season, so I'm starting to get the itch to play again!

I got NCAA 09 last year after trying the demo and thinking it was pretty decent, but the more I played it, it frustrated the crap out of me. It was way to easy to score with the PG just by doing a cross over and driving and the legacy mode was impossible for me to get into. I would have gone back to CH 2k8, but the gameplay in NBA 2k9 was too much better in my opinion so I just couldn't do it, but I definitely liked CH 2k8 more than NCAA 09. In NCAA, I recruited a 7'3" 5 star C that ended up being player of the year to NIAGARA University. Of course I got fired before he developed into the player of the year though

Yeah, I tried out the NCAA Basketball 10 demo and I just don't think it's for me. I'd like to give NCAA 10 a chance because the atmosphere looks good, but I'm just not feeling the atmosphere or the flow of the game.

I finally played another game earlier and had a lot of fun! I'll have the results up in a bit!

Portland 78, San Francisco 72

San Francisco, CA (AP) - The San Francisco Dons (14-11, 3-5 WCC) have now lost four of their last five games as the Dons fell this evening 78-72 the Portland Pilots (14-8, 5-3 WCC). The Dons, who won five straight games heading into WCC play, have only won three of their five WCC games and are all but eliminated from the WCC Regular Season Title race.

"It's been very disappointing with how we've been playing lately," stated a somber Coach Frizzell. "Tonight, we just didn't play smarty. Our shot selection wasn't bad and we knocked down a fair portion of our shots, but we turned the ball over 19 times and you just can't do that. Also, we put [Portland] on the line 28 times and you can't do that if you want to win the game."

And the Portland Pilots drained 25 of those 28 free throws, which ultimately decided the game.

The Pilots seized control of the game midway through the first half. USF made a run midway through the second half to take a brief lead, but Portland fought back to take a four-point lead with under a minute remaining. USF had to foul, and Portland drained their free throws late in the game to seal the victory, which moves the Pilots to 5-3 in WCC play.

Matt Owen and Ronny Gregory lead the Dons with 16 points apiece. Owen also tallied 6 assists and 3 steals, but more importantly, turned the ball over 7 costly times.

"You can't have your primary ball handler [Matt Owen] turn the ball over so much and expect to win," beamed a frustrated Coach Frizzell. "I don't mean to chastise him or anything, but it's true. I have confidence in him that he'll be able to bounce back, though. He's a good kid.

The Dons will look to get back on track on Monday against a stout Loyola Marymount (14-7) team, but it won't be easy.

Portland Player Statistics
SF, Romain Modica: 16 points (5-14, 0-1), 5 rebounds, 4 steals
PF, Ike Graves: 8 points (4-7, 0-1), 9 rebounds
C, Gerry Terrell: 14 points (3-7), 7 rebounds, 5 ssteals
PF Dale Merriex: 11 points (3-5, 1-1), 4 rebounds

San Francisco Player Statistics
PG, Matt Owen: 16 points (6-14, 2-5), 3 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 steals
SG, Ronny Gregory: 16 points (6-10, 2-4), 3 rebounds, 3 steals
SF, Walter Proffitt: 9 points (3-9, 1-5), 5 rebounds
C, Galen Pettway: 13 points (5-8), 4 rebounds)

WCC Standings (RPI: 6)

1. #11 Gonzaga 20-4 (7-1)
2. Portland 14-8 (5-3)
3. Saint Mary's 13-9 (4-4)

6. Pepperdine 14-9 (3-5)
7. San Francisco 14-11 (3-5)
8. Santa Clara 12-11 (2-5)

Re: Coaching Legacy of James Frizzell (CH 2K8)

Even though it's a defeat, it's good that you got this going again.

It looks like it may not be until next year for the Dons unless you can somehow maneuver the team past Gonzaga, Saint Mary's and USD as well as Portland.
