to anyone who has played all High Heat games...

I'm looking to buy one of the high heat games for pc (via ebay), and need a recommendation. can anyone tell me which version they prefer (i've heard the newer versions have alot of problems?), and also which one has all the below features:

- manager only mode
- decent community (custom rosters and stadiums)

apparently, the 2001 version (with sammy sosa) is really good, but are any of the newer versions better?

I played the crap out of HH2002 back in the day, but that was 6 or so years ago. I remember not really liking HH2004 too. Wish I could be of more help.

IMO, 2001 was their best version. Post patches of course.

03 was the last version to have "manage only mode", still some mods being made for that version over at simcentral.net

the High heat series for PC is my favorite baseball series of all time. At the time 01 really blew me away but of course new seasons meant new features so 03. I'd say it comes down to 03 or 04, however 04 was completely done over and made it different from the other ones. Yeah it looked better but lost alot of little things that were cool like being able to print out your box scores and not just the line but the whole play by play game and 01,02,03 all had post game highlights and the option for you to pick how many you wanted to see, you could see every play from the game if you wanted and 01,02,03 had older historic parks to choose from a good amount too hh2004 did not. If the graphics arent too big of a deal to you and baseball experience what you want get 03 and pudge just released a 2009 opening day roster for it to. Another cool thing about the series is you can pick the season lengths to any number you want. I recommend a 60 game 'even' schedule and making all playoff rounds best of 7. It just works great. It comes down to 03 or 04, more features in 03 and better graphics for 04, either way there are a ton of 'historic rosters' and updates for both. I'll tell you where to go get em. You'll have fun with eithr choice or get both.lol
