Young Phenom named number 3 starter

Young Phenom, Rio Wilson to start in the number 3 position
Manager Mike Scioscia made his decision late Sunday Night, a week away from kickoff of the 2008 season. Young Phenom was not put in the 5th slot, but the 3rd. The Halos will have two leftys, phenoms Joe Saunders who had a pretty solid season last year posting up 8 wins for the halos, and 1st round pick Rio Wilson, who was 13-2 with a 1.50 ERA in his senior year in college. They will have 3 rightys, Lackey, Weaver and Garland who all had a good season last year. The rotation will look somewhat like this

1. J. Lackey
2. J. Weaver
3. R. Wilson
4. J. Garland
5. J. Saunders

Mike Scioscia hoped that Rio Wilson will have a great career, season and debut, next Wednesday against the Minnesota Twins to take on Joe Mauer and co. Rio Wilson go head to head with young Twin pitcher Scott Baker who had 9 wins and punched out 102 batters.
