Texas Rangers (MLB 2k9)

Time for take 2!

Rosters: Personal Rosters. From late June with most prospects named. Some trades are done, some aren't. My Triple-A team is completely accurate as of yesterday, and 3/4 of my Double-A team is correct, as well as about 9 Single-a players.
Sliders: Padjoi's
Games: 162 (hopefully)

Personal Rules: Won't trade for anyone that isn't on trading block or isn't offered to me.

I'll try to get a game in tonight, I'm still going through and editing all of the contracts for every team which is a pain.

Rookie Crowe's First Hit a Big One

Arlington, TX -- Opening day got off to a rough start for the Rangers. Kevin Millwood got in trouble early, allowing the bases to get loaded in the first inning. He managed to escape only giving up one run off the bat of Travis Hafner, and things started to look good for Texas after a 3-run bottom of the inning.

That all changed when rookie Trevor Crowe came up to bat in the fourth inning, however. Millwood hung a slider out over the plate, and Crowe drilled it into the lower home-run porch of the Ballpark in Arlington. His first big league hit happened to be his first big league home run, and it was enough to win the Indians the game.

Rangers Power By Indians, Holland Hurt

Derek Holland was really impressive before he left the game with a shoulder injury

Arlington, TX -- Despite losing the opening game, the Rangers managed to take the series from the Indians by beating them tonight. Derek Holland was extremely impressive in his major league debut, but it won't be remembered because of his performance. Rangers fans looked forward to this day for a long time, and the crowd of just over 37,000 was dead silence as Holland was in a huge amount of pain in the 6th inning. He left the game with what is being called a shoulder injury, let's just hope it isn't too serious.

What appeared to be a pitcher's duel early on quickly turned to a slugfest for the Rangers. Chris Davis' 3-Run home run gave the Rangers the lead in the 4th inning, and a huge 7th inning was more than enough padding to give the Rangers the win. Texas travels to Detroit for a 3 game series this weekend.

Holland Placed on DL With Torn Rotator Cuff

Arlington, TX -- Last night's tests brought the news no one wanted to hear. Derek Holland left last night's game, his major league debut, in the 6th inning with what was said to be a shoulder injury at the time.

After examination, doctors have confirmed that he tore his rotator cuff in his throwing arm after a pitch. He has been placed on the 60 Day Disabled List, but team officials have said that it is very unlikely that he will pitch for the Rangers again this season. There is a good chance that he could start throwing again sometime in September, but if the season is still going on he would be sent to Triple-A Oklahoma City to finish the year.

"You hate to see these kinds of things happen, especially to such a young kid," Manager Ron Washington commented after hearing the news, "He was pitching extremely well last night, and you could tell he has a really bright future. Hopefully he can recover from this injury and not have it take away from his potential."

The Rangers have yet to comment on who they will call-up to take Holland's spot on the rotation. There was some speculation that top prospect Neftali Feliz could be called upon, but after he struggled in his start for Oklahoma City last night it isn't likely. Other options are Jason Jennings, Kris Benson, or Tommy Hunter. It's unlikely that the Rangers will call up Eric Hurley or Brandon McCarthy from Frisco.

Thanks!

I just found an article on MLB.com and tried to recreate the format the best I could.

Notes
--Exciting game, I literally jumped up and did a fist pump after I hit the homer with Kinsler
--Still messing with contact sliders, I lowered it from 100 to 80 for this game and it didn't do much, will try 60 next game.
