Thank you. I appreciate the comments, plus it helps keep me motivated. I've got 2 more games to update (both against the Brewers), which will hopefully come tonight. Then it's on to the '85 Cards. I'm looking forward to that series.

I hope you keep going also.
I really dig the newspaper style you are using.
The pics and captions are excellent.

Thanks, Knight. I intend on keeping the same format, although I don't know that I got a single pic from the last game I played. The replay glitch (whatever you want to call it) kept me from getting anything, so I didn't get any pics or videos and had to write all the stats down after the game. That's a bummer. But anyways, I'll probably do that one game update differently then it will be back to the newspaper.

Re: Endless Summer: Following The '86 Mets Through A Classic Season

I know, I know. I'm in every game, and a lot of them end up with as many or more hits as the other team, but I can't drive the runs in. I'm middle of the pack in average but dead last in runs scored. I've played a few more games and need to catch up here, but my offense may (hopefully) be coming around. My last game is a good sign (against the Expos), anyway.

I'm just setting everything up for a good pennant race, you know. I don't want to get too far ahead and bore everybody.

Re: Endless Summer: Following The '86 Mets Through A Classic Season

Ok, this is the game I spoke of earlier that had the replay glitch; so no pics or newspaper on this one. The next update will be back to the regular scheduled program. At least I won this game, though. (Just kidding, I lost)

Brewers Down Mets 6-4

The '82 Brewers' bats were just a little too much for the '86 Mets last night, as they outscored New York 6-4. The Mets got on the board first when Darryl Strawberry tripled to score Howard Johnson. Meanwhile, Ron Darling was throwing a gem of a game, as he surrendered only 1 hit through the first 5 innings. The Brew Crew finally got to Darling as he gave up one run in the 6th but the Mets answered back with a run of their own in the bottom of the frame as Gary Carter singled to score HoJo once again. Milwaukee went on to score 3 more in the 7th and tacked on 2 in the 8th to put the Mets away, though. The Mets will go to St. Louis next to face the '85 Cardinals in a 3 game series.

Projected Pitching Matchups:
21st (NY) B Ojeda (0-1, 11.25) @ (STL) K Kepshire (0-1, 3.38)
22nd (NY) S Fernandez (0-1, 9.90) @ J Tudor (2-1, 1.16)
23rd (NY) R Aguilera (0-1, 1.80) @ J Andujar (2-1, 1.69)

NY 4-8 6GB of '80 Phillies
STL 7-7 3GB

Around the league:
Ron Kittle went 3-5 with a HR and 6 RBI's in the '83 White Sox win over the '99 Devil Rays
Andres Galarraga led the '97 Rockies in a thrashing of the '63 Dodgers, going 4-5 with 2 HR's in a 12-1 win
Roger Maris led the '61 Yankees to a victory over the '95 Indians, going 2-3 with a HR and 3 RBI's. The Yankees scored 6 runs in the 8th inning to put the Indians away 7-6.

Oh great...the '85 Cards.
Do me a favor and just break Tommy Herr's legs in the first game.
