RANGERS RALLY!

After preparing all day to face Clayton Richard, the Rangers and Ron Washington were very surprised to see him not out on the mound. Instead it was Andrew Russell who got the start.

He pitched very well, going 7.2 IP allowing only 4 hits to that point. Texas would finally get things started in the bottom of the 8th.

Chris Davis hit a line drive double to the right field wall, the Rangers were in business. Matt Thornton couldn't stop things either. As he would eventually allow the Rangers to take a 5-3 lead on a Andruw Jones 2 run single in between Left & Center Field.

The Rangers took 2/3 from one of the hottest teams in the league, on another good note, Ian Kinsler went 1/3 raising his avg to .195 Texas will travel to SafeCo Field to take on the Mariners for a 2 game set. They are set to face King Felix & Erik Bedard. Seattle is 7-18 so far this season.

In a game that featured little offense. Jarrod Saltalamacchia came up with a clutch 3 run HR that sealed the deal for Texas.

But it would be up to the bullpen to save it for Texas. Derek Holland would make his first career major league appearance, and he faired pretty well, going one inning, while allowing just one hit and striking out one, his fastball reached 95. C.J. Wilson did provide Ron Washington a scare as he allowed two deep fly balls to the warning track to Griffey Jr & Lopez, but Hamilton & Jones were there to make the routine catches.

Texas has now won 3 out of their last 4, while this was Seattle's seventh straight loss.

Texas is set to face Erik Bedard (2-2, 3.67 ERA) at a 1:05 starting time tomorrow. Texas will send out Vicente Padilla (2-2, 5.40 ERA)

Young comes up big

In a game where Vicente Padilla needed to come up big, he did just that. He actually didn't allow his first hit until the bottom fo the 5th inning. The Rangers offense struggled to score runs, but wasn't short on the hits department. Padilla did get in trouble with runners on 1st and 3rd with no outs, but got out of the jam with 2 strikes out in a row and a routine fly out. Rookie OF Greg Golson scored the eventual game winning run for the Rangers.
