Re: Put Your Hands Up, The Rangers Are In Town - A MLB 09 'Chise

DAVIS DELIVERS FINAL BLOW

Brandon McCarthy hasn't been getting too much run support in his starts, but tonight was different. Although he had only a 4-2 lead going into the 9th. That all changed when Chris Davis stepped up to the plate and smacked a 3 right homer over the Right Field Wall to give the Rangers their 4th win in a row. Ian Kinsler is trying to raise his average slowly but surely, he went 1-4 and managed to knock in an RBI. "He's showing more power, he's still getting on top of the ball though, he'll be okay though." Young did make a costly error tonight, which cost McCarthy a run, however it didn't matter in the end.

Re: Put Your Hands Up, The Rangers Are In Town - A MLB 09 'Chise

BENSON FALLS OUT, GIAMBI HAS LAST LAUGH

Kris Benson couldn't have done worse than he did this after. After lasting only 2.2 IP and allowing 4 runs in that time span, his days seemed numbers as a Rangers starting pitcher. "Based on how Feldman has performed in the pen, he'll get the nod over Feliz and Holland for the #5 starting spot," said Rangers skipper Ron Washington.

Despite not having any home runs against Oakland, they've gotten plenty of hits which is pleasing Ron Washington. Ian Kinsler even went 3/8 in the short two game series, who has raised his average up from .186 to .202 in those 2 games.

Jason Giambi was too much for the Rangers pitching staff to handle and is glad to be headed to Chicago for a three game set before heading back home. Giambi was 5/8 with 3 RBIs and 2 HRs in the short two game set.

Re: Put Your Hands Up, The Rangers Are In Town - A MLB 09 'Chise

RANGERS COMEBACK TOO LATE

The Rangers got a taste of what they could have had today. That was John Danks. He pitched very well this evening, going 8 innings, allowing only 2 runs (1 earned) while mowing down 6 Rangers in that span.

Matt Harrison didn't pitch terrible though, he did get in trouble in the bottom of the 6th, which eventually cost the Rangers the game.

Chris Davis tried to bring the Rangers back with a 2-run shot off of Octavio Dotel, which brought it to a 4-6 game, but once Jenks came in, he quickly shut the door. Ian Kinsler had a successful day at the plate again, going 2/4 while scoring a run, and hitting a leadoff double in the 2nd, but couldn't be brought around to score.

BULLPEN BLOWS IT LATE

In a game where Texas finally got the long ball going, Eddie Guardado couldn't hold a 4-4 tie. Jermaine Dye came in to deliver a huge 2-run HR that was the eventual game winner.

Josh Hamilton, Michael Young & Hank Blalock all had homers in the game. Ian Kinsler got a day off for rest.

For Chicago, Brian Anderson had a huge day going 3-4 with a HR and scoring twice. He was named the player of the game.

Re: Put Your Hands Up, The Rangers Are In Town - A MLB 09 'Chise

PEN SAVES IT FOR PADILLA

In a game where Vicente Padilla pitched brillantly, the Rangers needed to turn to the bullpen again for the final 4.1 innings. This time things were much different, allowing just one hit in that time span.

The Rangers managed only one extra base hit, a double that drove in Ian Kinsler by Andruw Jones, but still won the game.

Carlos Quentin homered for the Sox only runs of the day, his 9th of the year. The Rangers will enjoy their monday off and get ready for a conference showdown against Seattle & Los Angeles. Texas went 4-3 on their 7 game road trip.
