Yankees Win In Three!!!!!

Yankees sweep away Tigers, wrap up ALDS victory by winning in front of the hometown fans.

The Yankees closed out the ALDS at home last night with a win in Game 3, beating the Tigers 5-2 to move ahead to the ALCS. Hideki Matsui was a spark plug offensively, picking up 3 hits in 4 at-bats. Working 6 innings, Phil Hughes was able to get his 1st win of the postseason, as he gave up 2 runs and 6 hits in the victory.

The Yankees will await the outcome of the Red Sox vs Mariners series, to determine who they'll be facing in the ALCS.

Mariners Win, Take Series In Four Games!!!!!

Effiecient Mariners all business at home, beat Red Sox in Game 4 of the ALDS to earn a spot in ALCS.

The Mariners were too much for the Red Sox last night, winning Game 4 by a 4-3 count -- and the ALDS, 3-1 -- and advancing to the ALCS. Jamie Burke collected 2 hits in 3 at-bats and had 2 RBI's for the victors. Erik Bedard allowed 5 hits and 3 runs over 6.1 innings, and the bullpen was able to close the door to seal his 1st win of the postseason.

The Mariners next do battle with the Yankees, in Game 1 of the ALCS in New York, with Carlos Silva (0-0, 0.00) slated to oppose Mike Mussina (0-0, 0.00).
