Orioles change scenery and fortune, snap skid with 3-2 win in Seattle!!!!!

Seattle, WA- Maybe a change of scenery will do the Orioles good. Tonight at Safeco, the Orioles showed something that they haven't seen much of this season. That is poise. After jumping out to a 2-0 lead off of a solo home run by Melvin Mora in the 1st inning and another by Ramon Hernandez in the 4th, the Mariners struck right back in the bottom of the 4th inning with a pair of runs of their own to tie the game at 2-2. Things remained that way until the 8th inning when Luke Scott delivered his 21st RBI of the season, a clutch single to center field to score Luis Hernandez who came in for Alex Cintron after Cintron got tossed earlier in the night arguing a close play at first base. Jeremy Guthrie looked like the ace that the Orioles expected he would be by going 7.0 IP and allowing only 1 run. Jeremy's great start set up the "Birds" 1-2 punch in the 8th and 9th as Chad Bradford and George Sherrill took care of business. Bradford allowed only one base runner, a throwing error by Luis Hernandez and George Sherrill sent down the Mariners 2-3-4 hitters, striking out both Burke and Sexson to snap the O's losing streak. The Orioles move to 7-14 on the season and look to continue winning tomorrow night.
