Yankees offense to much for Orioles in first game of series!!!!!

Baltimore, MD - The Yankees offense was just to much for the O's to handle tonight. Everytime the O's made an effort to keep pace, the offense for the "Bombers" would turn it up a notch and keep a small distance between them and the hometown boys. The Yankees got homeruns from Hideki Matsui and Robinson Cano, who hit his first of the year to pace the Yanks. Mike Mussina was effective enough to earn his second win of the season and Mariano Rivera delivered a perfect 9th to seal the victory and get New York back to the .500 mark. O's starter Brian Burres continued to struggle as his record now falls to 0-3 on the season. The O's will look to recover tomorrow as they will send their most effective pitcher Steve Trachsel to the hill.

Well, not like I wasn't expecting it. It's tough. I seem to play well most of the games but just can't find a way to win consistently. It's only April though. Lots of baseball left.

O's pitching continues to look pathetic as Yankees cruise to 11-3 victory!!!!!

Baltimore, MD - It wasn't pretty for the Orioles tonight at home. Before Yankees starter Ian Kennedy even took the mound in the last of the 1st, the Orioles knew it wasn't going to be their night. The Yankees knocked "Birds" starter Steve Trachsel from the ballgame in only 2/3 of an inning pitched as the "Bombers" plated 5 runs in the 1st inning alone. The big blows of the inning coming in form of the long ball off the bats of Alex Rodriguez and Robinson Cano, both 2-run homeruns off the O's veteran. Not that the game wasn't already out of reach, Jason Giambi delivered a grand slam homerun of his own in the 6th to reassure the Yankees rout. A-Rod delivered his 2nd homerun of the game in the 8th inning to earn him player of the game honors and boost the Yankees into 3rd place in the division as the Rays lost again to extend their losing streak to four games. The Orioles will hopefully salvage the finale tomorrow night before they finally get a much needed day off to rest their starters.

Tough stretch here... I know its early but you're playing in a really tough division. Hopefully you'll turn things around.
