APF Ladder Tourney Gamertag List/Standings

Ladder is Open as of 10/12/09!

Remember: Legends only (any and all). Wins are worth 3 points and losses are worth 1 point. One game per week is needed to not drop to the bottom of the standings, but isn't required to compete or anything. After 6 weeks we will have a tournament. Refer to the "APF Ladder Tourney Information Thread" for specific rules and information.

Note: Please direct any particular player gameplay issues to me via PM and try not to make them public immediately. I don't want a negative attitude in here.

Inaugural game!

Players: CreatineKasey (Away) vs. SOIS (Home)
Difficulty: Legend
Score: 14-21 (Sois W)
Summary: This was a wonderful game that came down to the wire. Alvin Harper scored his 2nd TD with 7 seconds left in the 4th quarter to win it. The drive just before that Archie Manning was finally able to piece together a game tying drive. Despite throwing 3 interceptions and being sacked 4 times against Singletary's vaunted 4-6 front... he churned out 3 touchdowns and 258 yards passing.

Another great performance was had by SOIS's run defense. He held the great Walter Payton to 15 yards on 11 carries! I'm trying out Hornung next game to see if he can diversify things. SOIS stacked the box, and it worked great. His DB's (Woodson and Barney) played really well, especially against the run.

GG SOIS! I hope you had fun because I sure did!

That was amazingly fun. 2 of my TD's were junk long bombs though. It was really a defensive struggle, despite the score. Kasey played a frustrating passing defense and the pressure from Hampton up front forced me to make decisions faster than I wanted. McDaniel ate me up.

This game is really fun. I will make more time to play this game! GG Kasey!

Difficulty: Legend
Score: 17-23
Summary: Another nail biter! I had 2 rough turnovers - Hornung fumbled and Willie Brown picked off a slant route (gorgeous BTW). Hornung was far more effective in my system. He obtained 71 yards rushing on 15 carries AND 112 yards on 3 receptions with a TD! Willie Brown was lights out for Jingle, deflecting fade routes in man coverage... it was nasty! Brown also forced the fumble on Hornung. He was the player of the game. Jingle did a great job of getting rid of the ball and not getting sacked. Sanders also snapped off a long 63 yard TD.

Long story short: 14 points off turnovers (coverted BOTh turnovers into TD's!) seals my fate.

Summary: This may have looked like a game of futility but it wasn't. Seahawks roster came fully loaded with offense (Rice, Barry, Maynard, Cunningham, etc) but my team didn't come to kiss anyone's stat board (Reggie, Selmon, Carson, etc). There were alot of turnovers caused by the defensive pressure on both sides of the ball with my front four sacking Cunningham 4 times, limiting Barry to 70 rushing yards and overall holding the potent offense to 170 total yards. In the end, Ricky Sanders couldn't hold onto a 4th & 2 deep pass and gave the ball. My defense held again, but with only 30 seconds on the clock, Seahawks' defense shut me down.

A game of field position, great defense on both sides, and good coaching/playcalling best describes this one. This was my first game against SuperSeahawks and man, it is probably was one of my favorites.

Wow! With that kind of offense it is a pretty crazy result. Greazy, you really must've put a nice defense together to control that offense. One TD gets you the win against that?! Nuts!
