Players: Twosilk32811 vs. Nflhitman Revenge bowl I
Difficulty: Legend
Score: 20-17 twosilk32811
Summary: The first rivalry game in Ladder history pits nflhitman against the underdog twosilk, silk knew he was in trouble, but when he got to the matchup screen he knew it was going to be a long day!!
That's right nflhitman pulled out the million dollar APF team:
Rice, Maynard, Coates,and Earl Campbell.
Twosilk just wanted to keep this one close, but his troops led by Eric Bieniemy who outgained Earl Campbell pulls off the shocking upset, Coach Twosilk had this to say after the game!!
I know he wanted the game, look at the talent he went to assemble for this game, when you see that lineup, you know someone is out for blood, but today was not his day I was able to contain Earl Campbell for the most part other than that one big run, and we forced Jerry to have to beat 3 people all day, and were able to get a 49 yard FG with all zeros on the clock to beat the million dollar team!!!
I think I should get 6 points for having to beat that team, and keep that team from putting up 45 points.

Yea you played a GREAT GAME!
Otto was being Auto as everything you threw up seemed to be Gold even to generics.
When your generics can make better catches than my 2 star WR's than I am in for a long day. Many times I had wide open WR's for TD's but Keith Millard would hit me and 1 ended with an INT in the endzone while others just hit the ground.
You ever have those days when your WR has beat every defender by 10+ yards and you can't get the ball to them? This was one of those days as Bart Starr seemed to be EXTRA slow on his release.
twosilk did what he should have done and that was take the bullets from the gun because Starr was on his back all day!
Need to go back to my normal defensive teams since I don't know how to use my Gold Offense.

Here's a good example showing that loaded offensive teams are NOT overpowered. Loaded secondaries own BAD offenses and loaded front 7's own loaded offenses. Hearing Millard hitting Starr is exactly what needs to happen to keep the ball out of the great WR's hands. Sounds like a hot matchup!

Very true. As much as it's been noted of some secondary AI deficiencies, you can more than make up for it with a strong front 7. APF more than any other game replicates the fierceness of a strong pass rush or run cloggers.
One DL defender does make an impact but once you start adding a 2nd or 3rd, you really start to see some nasty stuff out there. I can't tell you how much I love seeing my DL club or beat up an OL and absolutely destroy a backfield.

Its much more reliable to call soft defenses with 4 man rushes from super talented DL than try to compete man to man with your DB's against loaded WR's. If people got an OL or 2 that'd maybe change.. but we'll never see that so DL will always be my giant offense killer. Jack Lambert, Randy White, and LC Greenwood won me a championship. Talent in the front 7 is where its at!

ducetrey1 v. SM_Hawkeye
Difficulty: Legend
Score: 23-15 ducetrey1
Summary: A very risky 4th and inches call with 1:00 left to play sealed the game for my team. SM_Hawkeye came out with Elway, Lofton and Maynard I believe, but I was pleased with the way my D played. Steve Young had a phenomenal day going 7/8 for 159 yards and 2 TD's. Paul Hornung was also tremendous for me rushing for 91 yards and a TD while receiving for 45 yards.
I really think Hornung is the best "all-around" player in the game. He is truly a beast at the RB position and is one of the best receivers in the game period. Tremendous speed...way underrated.

Phobia 08:50 PM 11-04-2009
Players: Thejackel(21) vs Phobia(14) Difficulty: Legend Score: 21-14 (jackel W) Summary: What a great game. I took first kickoff darn near yard and brought it back to around the 15 yard line. Should of been distance but it was a team I just used for the first time and did not have my subs correct. I scored on the opening possession to take the lead 7-0. I manged to force a punt on jackels opening possession with a great blitz called on 3 and 9. But that was one of the only times I forced him to punt.
Then Montana took over and started throwing all over the field. I could do nothing to stop him. Then on top of that he must of stole 10 plays from me lol. He went 18/19 270 yards. For a completion percentage of 94%.
We both managed to throw the ball well. But some key turn overs for me cost me the game. Like a last sec throw to the end zone on a man up WR. It goes through his hands and jackels safety just takes it from him for the pick to seal the game 21-14.
bmorerep87 vs. thejackal25
legend difficulty
20-17, bmorerep
jackal didn't seem to care that he was down 17-0 at half, and came back in the 2nd half. great game, very opportunistic defense. i was lucky to have won.
