I'm typically an online-only type of guy, but this game was pretty intense because there was something on the line. Miami gave me all that I could handle in this one.

The absence of Bob Sanders was felt early when Chad Pennington connected to Ginn for a 71 Yard bomb. They had my team a little on edge at this point, so we just did what we could to control the clock. Johnson and Brown combined for 31 carries and 89 yards. It was a tough day running the ball, but the bulk of those Yards went to Johnson who accounted for 61 yards on 19 carries. Donald Brown only manged 9 yards on 12 carries.

After the fast start by Miami, we were able to settle down and tie the ball game 10-10 at the half. In the third quarter neither team was able to do very much and no points were put on the board. That changed late in the 4th when Larry Johnson broke a 10 yard run to give us the lead. I figured we had it wrapped up, but a little over a minute later, Pennington hit Carpenter for a 62 yard bomb...."Dammit"

Peyton had the eye of the tiger while running the 2 minute drill. With moments left in the game Adam lined up for the game winning field goal. The ball is snapped...AND...BLOCKED. We are going to overtime.

In overtime we win the coin toss and Peyton continues his 4th quarter work. We seal the deal with a 27 yard pass to Austin Collie aka 'Dog'. I felt very fortunate to escape with the W. The Colts win 23-17 and improve to 2-0.

Larry Johnson looked good out there today. I think I'm gonna try to split their carries around 70/30 in his favor and let young Brown learn from him.

DeWayne Robertson - 6 Tackles, 1 Sack
Gary Brackett - 1 INT
Melvin "Silver" Bullitt - 1 INT

Dallas Clark - 4 Receptions, 72 Yards
Austin Collie - 5 Receptions, 92 Yards, 1 TD
Larry Johnson - 19 Carries, 61 Yards, 1 TD
Donald Brown - 1 TD

Peyton Manning - 14/19, 212 Yards, 1 TD

Looks like we had a good trade,

Addai rushed for 90 yards this week, LJ only rushed for 15 last week... Now I just need one more receiver >.< [Reply]

Comeback Hawks win thriller in SF 21-14

San Fransisco:

After being totally dominated by the Rams in their opener @ home, the Seahawks hit the road to face the 49ers in Candlestick. It didn't look good after the 1st quarter as he Niners jump-out quickly to a 14-0 lead.

It was beginning to look as if the Hawks were gonna suffer another blowout lost @ the hands of the Niners & begin the season not 0-2, but suffer those loses to 2 division rivals.

Coach BFJ look baffled on the sideline. Before their next offensive possesion Coach BFJ could be seen talking to his team. We guess what ever was said fired-up the HAWKS, because they responded with 21 unanswered points in the 2nd quarter & with held 1 final push by the Niners in the 4th to win their 1st game 21-14.

On offense they had a good balance of run & pass keeping the niners honest on defense. The hawks defense was much better this game picking off Shaun Hill 3 times. 1 taken back to the house by Marcus Trufant for the GW TD.

Matt Hassleback had a good game going 9-12 156 yds & 1 TD. As a team the Hawks rushed for almost 100 yds. half of those yds from TJ Duckett.

After the game Duckett was traded along with Deion Branch & Aaron Curry for Edgerin James, Reggie Wayne & Tyjuan Hagler.

Coach BFJ stated "though it hurts losing Curry we feel the additions of Reggie & Edgerin now gives us 1 of the most explosive offenses in the NFC along with a really good defense"

Next week the Hawks host the monsters of the midway.. "Chicago Bears"

Lost to Tombsong 21-14

I turned the ball over 4 times to his 1, so I had my chances.

It seemed like Drew Brees was in "robo qb" mode (If you played the computer you know what I'm talking about) the way he completed throws into double coverage lol :-)

He still outplayed me though, so props :-) [Reply]

Just had a great game against Biffchan. The Broncos beat the Browns 9-3 in a defensive struggle.

The Browns had the ball inside the 10 yard line and had a 4th and 1 setup from the 3 with about a minute to go, but a hard snap backfired when a Browns lineman false started.

The last gasp for the Browns was as errant throw from Brady Quinn that sailed out the back of the end zone.

Broncos new starting running back Shagg Makino couldn't find any room to run the ball and ended up with 17 yards on 16 carries.

Kyle Orton Had an unspectacular day aside from a 40-yard pass to rookie free agent signee Tiquan Underwood that setup a field goal.

Player of the game has to go to the Broncos special teams, which forced two fumbles on the day and recovered one inside the 30 yard line which set up the eventual game-winning field goal. [Reply]

Yeah CPU victories aren't always going to be free wins like I thought they would be. That freakin' Titans team put a scare into me. I didn't want to pull off any Steeler magic this early in the season against the CPU?! What will HUMAN players do to me? Beat me to a pulp?

Nice writeups guys! Lots of action going around so far this season. In terms of advancing weeks are we doing a wed/sat advancements or just trying to go when everyone is ready? I'll go re-read the title posts but I don't remember a concrete answer. Just think in a few weeks here we'll be in the thick of the playoff race... I'm pumped! [Reply]

New England gets beat up on the road losing 38-14 to the J-E-T-S. Tom Brady throws 4 int. One was taken to the house Brady was thrown around a little tonight sack 3 times and hurried quite a bit as he his still trying to come back from knee surgey. The Defense gave up 2 long TD receptions 49 and 56 yd scores. Pats could not get any kind of running gm together. The Pats will look to rebound at home against the Falcons [Reply]

We have a new owner: treee from OS, known as Led51 on Live.

Treee and I have played APF and this game, and I think he'd be a great fit for this group. He's a good guy, a straight player from the 2k/APF mold, and the best part: he's a die hard Bengals fan. So he'll be taking up Cincy in the league and beginning play with the Week 3 opponent. [Reply]

Bummer, I just played the CPU Bengals in week 1.

Keep the new owners coming in if we can! I can't believe teams like the Redskins and Giants don't have owners.

Anyway, after starting two different QBs in their first two games, the Broncos will add a third QB to the mix with a new number 6 taking the reins at QB in week 3: Derek "rocket arm" Anderson.

Anderson is going to have to be on his mark with a top-flight Raiders defense coming to town in week 3. [Reply]

There is nothing top-flight about the Raiders. We suck . . . bad.
While it's true that 14 of the 40 points allowed have actually come from Jemarcus Russell, the defense is far from dominant.

And even worse than the defense is the offense! I am definitely playing for the future, trying to figure out which of my inexperienced players are going to stay and which will go. I bet I have the most inconsistent offense in the league. If Russell is on target, the WR are dropping everything. If not, Russell is missing everything by a mile and throwing picks. [Reply]

Our game was a close game. I was kinda pissed about the int I threw as it was the go through my WR into the DB variety, LOL

I did get lucky on a few of those catches. Normally my WRs would drop those passes.

I was fortunate that my defense came up big on turnovers. It was the difference in the game. [Reply]
