I was happy with Quinn, Lewis (probably an early leader for total yards), and the D. We just broke down in the 4th.

Let's get it on wee.
Man, I was definitely lucky to win this game. I couldn't get anything going with AP and Favre (bastard) threw 2 INTs. Biff did a great job of managing the game with Quinn; I think at one point he was 11-of-14 but he struggled a little down the stretch and finished 14-of-25. Lewis was steady on the ground, too.

I had a pick-6 early to take a 7-0 lead then fell behind and trailed for most of the game until I put together a last-minute drive and took the lead with 20 seconds to go on a 1-yard run by Chester Taylor.

I'm glad I don't have to see the Browns again

Biff is a good player, so you all in the AFC are going to have a tough time with him.

By the way! My dude HBF is going to get his game going. I was fortunate I got him week one. I stumped him with the 3-4 (f-u haters, it works!) And containing the flats and running game until Q4. He started peppering me with runs off tackle and medium routes. My D didn't adjust.

We had an instant classic and I have a new sim friend. Win/win.

PS: wildkat for 12 had you reeling

These games look awesome!

I just beefed up the Ravens WR core by adding former CFL player Reggie Williams to my squad. As an upgrade to the aging Kelley Washington, this 6'4'' beast should give Flacco the kind of target he needs.

Jets hang on to win their opener against the houston texans. Lots of max protect to keep mario williams out of my face.

Oh yeah I get to play the colts in week 2 Fitz and Boldin are very Happy.
Yikes. Not having Bob is gonna suck against your Cards. We're gonna have to win another one for him.

I also noticed so far that the rushing numbers are fairly low and the passing yard stats are fairly high. There's also a healthy amount of forced fumbles. I remember scouring APF's stats searching for 1 or 2 FF's in a SEASON!

I put a good hour of practice with the Steeler playbook today and YOW there are some NASTY plays in that book! I'm very excited to start putting a hurtin' on you punks
This is a far cry from the days of APF where me and DJ were putting up 200+ yard games on the ground with regularity.

The problem with the running in this game is the horrible blocking AI and the fact that defenders seem to teleport off their blocks as soon as you come near them.

EA football games have just been like that forever.

For instance, after signing RG Mike Wahle, the worst rated guy on my Broncos o-line is an 85 overall, yet I could barely find running room against the CPU Bengals.

23 carries for 64 yards with Knoholes Moreno.

That's what, 2.7 yards per carry?

Yikes.

I'm convinced that the only way to run well in this game is with a speed back who can just outrun everyone to the corner or a power back who can branch tackle after tackle and move the pile forward.

If you just try to rely on following your blockers, you get nothing in this game, because blockers just twitch around all over the place with no sense of logic.
