Re: SQL Classics Official Thread
I'd still like to play this league out. I just don't see it happening at this point.
Regardless I am reserving 2 teams. My Buccaneers because I really love em, but I am really leaning towards the 1999 Tennessee Titans in honor of the now late great Air McNair.
On to Andromada's statements:
I feel sliders actually take away from the game. It makes it easier on the user and take away from play calling and stick skills. I've seen and played in many realistic games on the default legend settings. I won't be using sliders in my league.
As for injuries, like I said I'm ok with them. The main difference in this game opposed to most football games is depth. There is a little more depth on a real NFL squad over an APF team. For instance the real 2000 Ravens were blessed with both Priest Holmes, and Jamal Lewis. Had one gone down, the effect would have been negligible. In this game though its a pretty big difference.
That said injuries to me are much like sliders, with good play calling and the proper adjustments a good coach can still win. Of course losing a gold would kill, but in most instances in the NFL losing a stud would end a season anyways....
As for dropping a QB way back. I agree its a pain to see but the mechanics in this game usually make you pay for poor passing anyways, plus that would be a pain to police.
It looks like we have a fairly decent interest rate. I will wait a few more days and then open up the floor to other players.
