PS3 Revival League - True Balance style...

I've decided to cancel my NCAAF league idea until I can rekindle some 'love' for APF '08 on the PS3. However, I still have hopes of running a college/pro tandem league with detailed player progression/regression, drafting from college to pro, etc...

I figured something quick and easy would help get things kicked off... So I present the PS3 Revival League based on the True Balance system designed by Flawless.

Sign-ups are currently open. Simply download the team builder Excel application, be sure to allow macros so you can generate the file I need to create your team on the website. Once you design your team in the application, hit export and a file will be created C:\Team.txt. You can then create an account on the website and either upload this file or paste the contents of this file into the designated field on the website.

Re: PS3 Revival League - True Balance style...

I intend to sign up. One question. I haven't played online since last year. Does the accelerated clock run during an online match? I'm wondering about the quick snap/no running the clock rules. It seems to form a pretty tight window for snapping. I assume a "quick snap" would be snapping as soon as the offense is set. What is an acceptable amount of time to snap the ball? If I remember correctly, you can make defensive adjustments as the teams line up, which takes a few seconds, so what advantage is gained by snapping soon after lining up?

What exactly constitutes "running the clock out"? 15 seconds left, 10, 5?

Not arguing the rules, but I've been out of the loop for a while, so I'm sure I've forgotten or missed a lot of perceived cheese.

Thanks. And thanks for taking the time to work on this. I was worried there would be no decent online gaming for the PS3 after checking the number of people online a few times.

Re: PS3 Revival League - True Balance style...

sleepychicken, I'm really new to the game, I've only had it about a week. Here's my thoughts...

Quick snap is snapping as soon as you can without giving the defense even a second once your guys get lined up to make an adjustment. I know you can make adjustments as they are getting into formation, but somethings you need to see exactly how they line up. Players shouldn't need more than 3-5 seconds to do this.

Running out the clock would probably be considered 5 seconds or less. The accelerated clock does run and I know that breaking the huddle at 20 seconds, and having to audible, can drain it below 5 sometimes. Doing that every player would be considered running it out. If it happens to happen on a play or two, that shouldn't be a big deal.

Some of the options in the spreadsheet seem broken. Points don't seem to fill in correctly for bronze players... for example quick release costs 0 points, workhorse 0 points, etc... Maybe some of these abilities were banned for bronze players in the league you took the sheet from? Are there rules to what abilities can be used with different tier players?

Found another one. According to the tier tab, brick wall, stonewall, etc should cost 0 points. They cost one on the sheet.

There seems to be a lot of these discrepancies.

Bronze players can't use Tier 1 abilities. I'll double check everything and see if I can fix the discrepancies. Thanks!

Does anyone still have a copy of the Team Builder with the export button in it... I somehow overwrote it and don't have it anymore... Please upload it to filesavr.com and send me the link.

Major bug fixed in the Team Builder. If you've already created your team, please re-create it.

This is not a legend league. It's a CAP league with made-up players. You must use the Team Builder to build your team, making sure you stay within all the guidelines (points, weight total, height total). Then export your team to a file and post it on the website.
