Re: MLB 2k10 Wish List

I'm a big fan of small details:

1. I would like to see the baseball realistically react to the objects it hits (in foul territory but especially after homeruns). I'd like to see the ball splash into water rather than dissapear. I'd like to see it bounce off of the dugout's nooks and crannies rather than inexplicably rolling up a wall. Real reactions to hitting real things.

1.5 Seeing how I have an infatuation with watching where the ball lands on homeruns, I'd like it better if the homerun derby camera stuck with the baseball for one extra second or two. As it is now, the camera appears to follow the flight of the ball all the way down until it hits, then it cuts away immediately, leaving no real chance to admire your work.

Clearly has been mentioned, but reiteration never hurts:

2. Ability to edit batting stances

3. Ability to edit starting opposing pitchers and lineups in exhibition.

4. Larger create-a-player limit

5. Limitless editing of current players

6. Playoff atmosphere improvements (proper decorations, custom commentary, thorough World Series and LCS celebrations). The World Series felt and looked no different than an interleague regular season series.

7. Better control of outfielders interacting with the outfield wall (user and computer). The computer often became disoriented when fielding hits near or off the wall. Conversely, it appeared very difficult to even attempt to rob a homerun, let alone actually snag one.

8. Improved baserunning A.I.

9. I scoffed at this notion when a critic pointed this out at the game's outset but. . .slower moving clouds.

10. Unique Home Run celebrations (I think Bernie the Brewer was gone this year?). Each park has a little something (often represented in 2K7).

11. Body interactions amongst fielders and baserunners. The inability to run through the 1st baseman. Take-out slides at second. Awareness of people around you.

12. A little sketchy on this one, but maybe a reintroduction of a botched call and ensuing arguments.

13. Were beanball warnings and ejections removed from the game this year? Sometimes bean balls did not phase the hitters. They didn't react to them.

14. Ballgirls

15. Scattering amongst players and other personel after hard shots lined foul.

16. Tuned bat sounds.

17. More retro jerseys (1980's Tigers present in 2007, removed in '09?)

18. Rain

19. Ability to start a ballgame at any time of day (as in 2K7)

20. Improved sunglasses and regular glasses (sunglasses appeared to have grey lenses)

21. Improved mitts

22. Harder, more realistic appearing trucking of catchers at homeplate.

23. Animations for making leaning, lunging, diving and falling plays in foul territory.

24. Small one: loved how the crowd stood up and prepared for a ball landing in their area, but there always seemed to be a person or two who would jump in the air clearly after the ball had landed. . .perhaps that could be addressed. It was equivalent to a defender jumping to block someone's jump shot after the ball had already gone through the net. Obviously such a small detail, but may as well be noted.

25. Classic teams with fictional (though editable) players. Real ratings, fake appearances and numbers.

Did anyone mention home run distance during a game? if not. Home run distance.

Arrow Re: MLB 2k10 Wish List

* give us the sliders back to control the AI batting, if AI is controlled by IE, then allow these sliders to override the EI code if the user chooses. It is crazy that the AI cannot hit a 12-6 curve and thers nothing I can do about it except throw very few.

* fielding needs to be redone but not the controls, keep the right stick controls - but player movement and glitches need an overhaul. fielding should be fun with the right stick.

* have a slider for fielder accuracy. I know accuracy is based off of right stick aligment and how far it is off (for example, a perfect 90 degrees for first base) and supposedly player attributes...but I never have offline throws. A slider would help this for users that are tired of pin point throws from the outfield to any base. too many years of this in MLB2k, it would make stretching a base hit so much more fun if the throw was offline sometimes.

* along those line, the magic snap tag needs to be slowed down a little, I will steal and look safe - only for the 2B to jump up high to catch a high throw and instantly tage me out 8 feet below before I can slide 1 foot.

* fix stealing and catcher throwing, nuff said on that.

* have global sliders for pitch accuracy. separate ones for breaking balls and fastballs would be nice, even ones for each pitch would be ideal (though not needed). so this is not by pitcher, but global for everyone with the rest of the sliders. The default of the slider would be like this year, casual users can pin point their pitches no problem. For more sim users, we can use these silders to create a little randomness in our pitches and where they end up. Maybe one notch means one inch random in ANY direction. so if I put my fastball slider up 12notches, my fastballs will end up anywhere in a two foot wide circle (12 inches left, 12 inches right, etc). and yes it can still go right where I aimed it, BUT I will never know for sure if I am going to paint the corner. and pitching inside could leave one over the plate. ANY pitching meter can be mastered, I ahve the currect one (which I like) turne up the hardest it can go and have no trouble hitting all my spots. I think a lot of people would enjoy walking the CPU every once in while. I would make the breaking pitches even more random, especially a knuckle ball. sliders would make it so everyone gets what they want.

* power slider needs to work. it cant be exclusively tied to the contact and success slider. I have power at 100 and cant hit homeruns as I need to tweak the other sliders to limit my hits, and I am patient at the plate for good pitches. power slider needs to have more of an overriding affect at the plate.

* allow us to customize unranked game with friends online. how can we not see our player's home run trot after a HR? I understand speeding up games, but taking ALL the great presentation out waas crazy. give us some options please.

I enjoy the game, but the potential to be so much better is there...the more realism the better!!!

Re: MLB 2k10 Wish List

I will wait a couple more releases before I decide if VC can make a baseball game or not. This past release they were handed a piece of garbage so I will give them a chance to turn it around based off of their past history with NFL2K and NBA2K.

MLB 2K has needed better animations for a long time now.. Smooth it up and add tons more and it will make a big difference.

I guess my one idea would be to have a custom batting stance creator. It would work like a face creator / editor.. Set your hands at any position , open / close stance , crouched , straight , what type follow through finish..ect. Lotta depth.

I like to think they are working on the next version.. No need to hype up the next release not knowing if it will meet high expectations or not. They rarely ever do it with any of their titles so why start expecting it now? This isnt EA where they hype any and everything under the sun.

I would loke to see each starting pitcher with a 'stuff" catagory. This would allow each pitcher to have varialbe stuff causing different outcomes for each game.. Sometimes the star pitchers get bombed due to not having their command with their :stuff:

Re: MLB 2k10 Wish List

This is my wish list:

1. A functional, glitch-free, better tested, logical and finely tuned game of baseball that won't make you tear your hear out over its glaring lack of quality assurance testing.

That's it. It's pathetic that my expectations have gone out the window for this series but if 2K offers this I'll be satisfied. No, I won't be buying the game this year, but I'll at least take comfort in knowing some poor soul's franchise hasn't completely locked up and erased all the prospects they edited...

Re: MLB 2k10 Wish List

I have not read this whole thread so excuse me if i repeat some things.
Let me say that I do enjoy this game, or have forced myself to enjoy this game since it's the only sim style mlb game on the 360.

1. Pitching- once you get the motions down, I feel that pitching is too easy to paint the corners. I have no "fear" in throwing a breaking ball on a 2-0 count for a swinging strike. There are power pitchers and more finesse, control pitchers, and I feel that 2k9 doesn't really reflect that.

2. When I throw inside to a batter, I want to see him get out of the way. Not sit there and take a 95mph fastball to the elbow.

3. like the previous poster mentioned, player interaction would be nice. for example, take out slides.

4. diving catches are too common imo

5. I still haven't really figured out stealing. I feel like the only time I am safe is from a misthrow by a catcher.

6. There are so many times when a player a clearly safe in a replay and is called out.

7. Atmosphere. Most of the time the crowd seems bored. the atmosphere is really lacking.

That is a GREAT idea... I really like the type of thing this can add to the Franchise mode. Itd keep a pitcher from ALWAYS being dominant.
