Re: MLB 2k10 Wish List

2k needs to find a way of blending its animations together better. The animations are amazing at times but the way they robotically transition from one to another lets it down.

Fix the problem with fielders weirdly slowing down as they run for catch in the outfield - or a baserunner slowing down as he sprints to first base.

And that "hop" animation fielders still do when they make a throw, despite the fact it isn't necessary a lot of the time.

The bat on ball sound... too tinnnnny.

There is so much to be positive about with this game tho'. The devs should really take an active approach to listen to the community. After all, this is the community that supports its game year after year.

Re: MLB 2k10 Wish List

I just picked 2K9 back up after letting it collect dust for the past few months.

At first, I thought it wasn't that bad. I thought that maybe I'd been too critical of it before.

Then I started simming a season and realized how god damned ridiculously awful the sim engine is for MLB players. I went back and simmed a few more new seasons, thinking maybe that first time was just an anomaly, no dice. It's not uncommon for the top 10 in saves to not have a single pitcher with an ERA under 4. It's not uncommon for every team to have a WHIP higher than the real life average WHIP. However, none of these problems seem to exist at the minor league levels.

The pitch gesture recognition is pathetic on 4 seam fastballs. And without the post-pitch display from 2K8, it's impossible to even know why.

Offense seems to be horribly inconsistent from game to game (against CPU). It seems like half the time I'm blowing out my opponent, hitting 4-5 HR a game, and the other half I'm locked in a 0-0 pitcher's duel. The middle ground of of 3 to 5 runs is near non-existent.

I agree with you on animations and they still can't get the sound of the bat correctly.

They feel like they are real players playing baseball......The field seems bigger than 2k9 just like a real game.....and you cant hit an outside fastball and pull the baseball into the seats for a HR. So after all of that here is my wish list.

1) Make the game like the Show but keep the pitching and batting experience.

For me its that simple......you would sell more copies and make a lot of gamers happy.....and i know that the Xbox wont have better graphics than ps3.....but you can get pretty close....look at madden......that's pretty close every year....

P.S.

For the love of god please make a game mode like the show has......you can make yourself and play your way up through the minors and onto a major league club......if this happens i will leave 2k9 alone....but until then.....look out

You realize the consensus is that NCAA looks better on the xbox. I'm not an xbot, I just hate to see misunderstandings posted.

Re: MLB 2k10 Wish List

Man, I just hope MLB 2K10 is more playable next year.

I played MLB 2K9 for a couple months. Well, I didn't I actually play it. I tried tweaking it for a couple months, then gave up on it.

Not sure if it has been brought up, but I'd like to see some rainouts and some double header makeup dates, would force you to manage your pen and bench a little iwth the energy ratings.
