Guess the 3 year plan didn't work out.

This is good news. Hopefully this will steer the franchise in the right direction. I was very dissapointed with MLB 2K8. I was hoping for so much more. The Show 08 is much better in so many ways. Their getting closer to video game baseball perfection. 2K has a long way to go...

... so Zindagi Games was formed out of former Kush employees and the rest now joined VC!?
Looks like that the NHL and MLB teams lost more than just 2 guys.

Okay, I'd really like to know what's going on right now with the future of 360 baseball... Aren't there any reporters out there!?

Re: Did 2k transfer MLB '09 development to Visual Concepts?

Rest assured, there WILL be a 360 baseball game next spring. But it is not clear (to me, at least) who inside TakeTwo is making it. Or what the grand plan is.

I can't imagine we will see a game from scratch with this many changes. But a shudder to think at what the team will do with the current engine. If we have to go through more hokey add-ons like the "Slam-Zone" from a few years ago, I will be sorely disappointed.

The NFL and MLB got it backwards. They awarded their exclusive licenses to companies who, at the time, were releasing the inferior product in their respective sports.

You said it. I would much rather being playing MLB MVP 08 and ESPN NFL 2K8 right now.

Re: Did 2k transfer MLB '09 development to Visual Concepts?

I don't think any of this information is confidential, so allow me to fill in the gaps for you guys...

2K Los Angeles (formerly Kush Games) officially closed their doors around March 24, 2008. A good portion of the employees joined previous Kush Games owner, Umrao Mayer, at his newly formed company Zindagi Games (no public announcement as to what they are developing). Several other former 2KLA employees moved with the project up to the bay area and became a part of Visual Concepts. Still others decided to pursue other options (some stayed in the area and now work for other southern California studios and some moved out of state like kushgamer and myself).

This is just the way the industry works and things like this happen where companies start up, shut down, or are relocated/consolidated.
