The only guy on the Rookie team who can "kill" you with spot up J's is Melo. Dwayne and Lebron don't shoot spot up J's well. This was exploited by Spain during international play, and the 1st team is loaded with better defenders than Spain. Every time they miss, the defensive rebound goes to the 1st team, who has an excellent rebounder at every position. The second chance buckets would be out of control for the 1st Team.

Hinrich is not good enough to play on a team that can beat the 1st Team unless you put a 30 year old Michael Jordan at SG.

This talk of Lebron beasting over Duncan, Shaq and KG is just ridiculous. Then there is the X factor of Carmelo and Hinrich being inferior competitors to everyone else in the game. 1st Team has guys that do the big things and the little things. Only 3/5 of the Rook team can do the intangibles, and even then, Bosh doesn't do it as well as the front line of the 1st Team.

Make the Rooks shoot and they cannot rebound or defend well enough to win a half court game. The 1st team never has to fall back on perimeter shooting because the Rooks don't have the size to stop anyone at the rim. Hinrich, Melo and Bosh would add nothing on transition defense.

On top of all of that, 1st team has great passers from 1-5. Rooks only have Wade and Lebron. In fact, they'd have better luck starting Wade at the point, because Hinrich isn't creating shots for anyone.
