Do you feel like they effect the team on a whole though?
I always got the feeling they were player streaks and that's what carried the clubs at times.
I was just thinking of things like how the whole Mets relief corps just seemed to feed off each others negativity .....

Maybe I'm just putting too much into the teamwide hot/cold streaks and slumps.

I like the idea, but I think it could be simplified by just having more realistically tweaked team chemistry and morale ratings.

One other thing I'd love to see is a team "clutch" rating for those teams that always seem to wriggle their way back into a game or those teams that seem to fizzle late in the year (it would really make certain teams tough to shut down, even if you're technically more skilled). Maybe it could be born of a combination of something like individual player clutch ratings + team chemistry. High marks in both would make a team more likely to fight back, while low marks would= your Mets...lol.

Of course this idea, like yours, would have to be done very well or it could very well break the game. That's the trouble...if team type attributes are done even a little wrong you could end up with some very screwy events.

I remember in 2K7, if a team was "hot" it was a lock to be a HR derby, no matter how well you played. The team hot/cold streaks were a big mess. Not to say our boys at SCEA couldn't do it better, but it has to be difficult to program stuff like that, I'd imagine.
