Bro...on the real...from my experience with my 2008 Mets and Rays franchises, SCEA doesnlt have to do anything about hot streaks or slumps.
My Mets: kicked all kinds of *** basically through July. From August to the post season, they eerily played like the REAL Mets: low hit games, strings of no homer games, Reyes and Wright were COLD. Wright had 139 RBI's, but I'm telling you, for those two months, it seemed like he couldn't drive in an important RBI if his life depended on it.
My Rays: in June, got within ONE FRIGGIN GAME OF .500. Lost that game and they hit the perpetual skids till the end of the season.

Guys...
I couldn't find the thread where we were discussing how certain teams seem to always do well in the game...and others are impossible to drag from the dregs....
...and then I read the Rays signed Burrell for 2 years and was thinking that lineup is pretty damn good.....
...and would that translate into the Rays replacing the Yanks in this years version of The Show as the team with that magical little boost?
SO..It gave me an idea that I would like to know what you guys think of it.
Should there be something in the game that would give certain teams a boost?
You know how it seems when your team(real life!) is playing well and it seems like they can do no wrong....or in my case(read METS )...that they can't get it together at certain times of the year. ?
Should there be a team boost/slump option?
It could go something like this.
When you first start a franchise you could choose to have team boosts/slumps either neutral(off)....random(they would change for every team randomly during the year) ...or USER controlled(you can switch each team to....hot-neutral-cold at any time(mimicking the MLB if you like)
It would give a boost to the team(slight...nothing super human) in certain categories, say contact, power, clutch and some pitching categories...for the time the hot streak/slump would be "on".
It could be programmed for all, most or just some players(maybe also an option I LOVE OPTIONS! )
It sure would be a nice way to have the teams in The Show more accurately play like their real life counterparts IMO...and it's my belief that the whole momentum thing is a "real" thing anyway. It just seems that a team just feeds off each other when playing well....and also can get dragged down by the same momentum.
M.K.
