I decided to do some more editing to the file I
posted previously. I do not have a goal of trying to make a comprehensive roster edit (that'd be a monstrous task, as a lot of the NG guys are finding out). What I'm trying to do is make a file for picking up and playing quick games using the big conferences and a couple of outlying teams, with reasonable accuracy for 08-09. Like:
-ACC
-Big East
-Big 10
-Big 12
-Pac 10
-SEC
plus: Xavier, UNLV, Gonzaga, Memphis
On the file below, players with "+" at the end of their last name were edited/modified for the teams and conferences mentioned. This primarily includes incoming freshmen and adjusted redshirts. Barring errors, these "+" players have the correct year/class as of 08-09. Further, I've edited their appearances to rough approximations (skin tone and hairstyles, along with some accessories -- I didn't bother doing something like comparing photos) and their stats in accord with
this file posted by goodfella10. These stats were done by me with much haste, so they're open to critique. What I did was keep the rated player in the overall range. The attribute-specific internals could probably use adjustments. In many respects, the ratings are flat-out guesses, some more informed than others. Also, I did not pay any attention to potential, which gets randomized when you edit. With a pick up and play file, potential is sort of irrelevant, anyway.
The players that have no markings after their last name are correct as of 07-08 (ie, to make their class accurate to this year, they'd need to be pushed forward a year). I have not done any further edits to the 07-08 players, other than to apply dkrause's stats edits from last year.
I've not yet gone through the rosters with a fine toothed comb, so I'm sure there are plenty of errors. For one, a lot of the walk-ons and bench warmers are not done. Some numbers and incoming/outgoing transfers are probably off a bit, too.
I'm away for a while b/c of the holiday, so if anyone wants to take it and tweak it further, again, be my guest. I'm getting tired of doing edits. Not sure what or how much more I'm going to do when I get back...
